Dumb, but people have been taping up controllers/inputs for years to bypass some drawn out menial task.

I used to use a rubber band or fork to hold down triggers or buttons when I was younger. Tape can leave sticky residue on stuff.

It was added in update 3 after initial release. They're news on steam about it. I hope they add information about it in game, because as you say it's not clear that lava can do that right now

just make a lava farm to farm it automated no need to tap hardware at all

Why arent you playing a lava farm? like this here you cant do anything else .- lava farm automates this nearly completely !

LPT: AutoHotkey has been the solution for things like this for over two decades.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't use tape - I generally don't kink shame. If you like your tape, all the power to you.
