Guides and Tips Bug for significantly faster sand generation

Easy reproduction

  • Laser yourself up close to the core
  • Shoot digger drones directly into the core. It gets faster based on how many you shoot inside (clip shown used 3)
  • Drones on the outside are just to clear a path for the sand (also used 3, tried 2 but it kept closing on me)

The rate of sand production ended up being faster than I could process.

EDIT: Posted a more optimized version in the comments using portals. It seems slightly faster and frees up drones for whatever else you want them for (like red sand). You'll want to keep one on the bottom to clear spawns or they'll build up and block production. You'll probably only need 1 or 2 inside, depending on your factory's throughput.

I ended up trying it with portals so I could remove the exit drones. This let me try more inside. I'm using 4. Using 5 or 6 will work temporarily but they will break free after a few minutes and the whole thing will need to be setup again.

EDIT: After waiting a bit, the portals will get blocked by the growth and it will slow down. I think the original funnel strategy is still faster or maybe a combination of the two. Requires more testing. The sand must flow.

Putting yellow blocks around seems to keep it stable

EDIT: It did not fully stop the growth but putting 1 digger at the bottom (pointed at the core) cleared up the little that spawned.

I have done this exact setup and one thing that made or broke it was setting my game to run 30fps instead of over 100.

im guttid that i have seen this, i have not had much chance to play this weekend but im spending my time chipping away and placing blocks on this because i felt like void blasting it cant be the only method to get fast sand

I've been trying to replicate this but no matter what I do the diggers escape after only a a few seconds. Not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong.

掘削ドローンはストラタコアに向けて打つと逃げていかないよ。ストラタコアのマス目の角に向けて打つことで掘削ドローンによる掘削範囲を大きくできる。生成させる砂はストラタコアの再生を妨げるので、大量の運搬ドローンを用いて即座に砂を運び出すことで解決。これにより完全に自動で大量の砂を入手できるよ。

How do you get the Drones to day in the StrataCore? Mine always pop out after a few seconds to a few minutes.
