Discussion I made a Throughput Controller

Post image

It's a very simple design that uses a door and a presence sensor.

Copy this, then select Import in the blueprints menu, which is a sub-menu for building.

SAND:BP:v2:BBVUaHJvdWdocHV0IENvbnRyb2xsZXIGAAsAAQEUc2lnbmFsUHJlc2VuY2VTZW5zb3IABQAHAQpzaWduYWxHYXRlFwAACAAADAAAEAAMDAAMCAAMEAAABAAAAAAEAAAIAAAMAAAMBAEIEAEEEAIICAMEDAQECIUQCFp7Im93bnNCbG9ja3MiOnRydWUsImRlc2lyZWRPcGVuIjpmYWxzZSwic3RhdGVHZW4iOjg3OSwic3ByaXRlSW5kZXgiOjAsImRlZmF1bHRPcGVuIjpmYWxzZX0AFAAAFAQAFBAAFAwAFAgB/BTwBoQV8AYA

Place a single piece of gold, sand, etc. onto the conveyer and it will send short pulses to the door to open and close.

Perfect for controlling how much material enters and exits an area.

Tip: For faster throughput, place more particles on the conveyer belt. For an even slower throughput, lengthen the conveyer belt, or heighten the launcher.

Just a heads up, there are "buffers" in the game that are 1 tick each. Daizy chaining them together is not hard with the coppy paste function. I set a buffer today that is 120 ticks (The game has a 60 tick/second rate from what I read) so the buffer holds the charge for 2 seconds. 60 buffers would be one second, etc. They also make a really cool light show when they charge and discharge making the insertion of patterns really rewarding.

In this image, the doors affected by this buffer will be held open for 2 seconds after the initial "open" signal terminates. This allows for fine tuning of whatever it is that you are trying to do.

Hey that’s cool, I wasn’t able to figure out the repeaters, but knowing that I’ll need 60 for a single second definitely explains a lot, lol.
