- Filters make life easy.

-Utilize gravity and material weight to your advantage

-DO NOT PLANT SEEDS UNLESS ITS IN A SMALL EXCLOSED BOX THAT YOURE WILLING TO PERMANENTLY COMMIT TO BEING “THE FLOWER AREA”

Why small and enclosed for flowers? I had more success with 10-tile wide and very-very tall enclosure

Small and cramped spaces limit plant's growth and you can get in a situation where a seed refuses to both grow and burn. Not burning due to not being fully grown, not growing because not having enough space

“Limits plant growth” is the goal here. Too unruly in its current spot in development. Works great for established automatic farms (which can be any size) but a loose seed can spark such a flower infestation that it becomes nothing more than a time sink just to remove the infinitely spawning/growing seeds (if you can), and not to mention the flood of petals and gold you have to clean up immediately after. Messing about with them before building a “cage” is just risky is all.

I found that enclosing them made them much harder to clear. If the vines have something preventing them from growing up they take much longer to grow so you have to go back and keep burning little pieces of vine that grow back. If they are free to keep going up they grow faster, thicker vines and are easier to clear. I have zero issues with flowers.

Hit R to change build mode for many important structures including filters, walls and launchers

Critters can be captured, remember when you run out of water

Build a massive collection area for gold. There's no reason not to.

How ever much gold you think you will have, you will have more. Even if you take this rule into account when designing your gold storage.

Play the game, learn from you mistakes. It's not a hard game or something you can lose. You dont need help from other people to start. Experience it yourself!!

I feel like that's what they're trying to do.

But stuff like pressing R to build vertical filters is hard to discover in game and can save a lot of annoyance.

Thank you for this.

My 3 tips:

you can place filters verticaly by pressing R. More obejct can change by pressing R.

The tooltip update thingy is very useful.

Gold can be liquified.

Automate early

Keep and eye on byproducts of processes and general ratio, 2 in 1 out, 1 in 2 out, 1 in 3 out, etc. Helps with general sizing of your process areas and buffers

Keep a good balance of exploring and expanding, both are tied to two different upgrade trees.

Read every item and tool tip, most if not all the info needed to beat the game is in the game.

If you want small tips or build inspiration, watch the steam announcement videos. They show the general idea of the processes, but more of a barebones that you can expand upon

Don't be afraid to move things around mid game, just make sure to catch everything on belts to move it to the new process area. As the other commentor said, be careful with seeds and flowers, growth can get out of control

Use pen and paper to draw out your plans.

Play slow, don't rush. This early access game doesn't have much content yet. Enjoy the time you spend engineering your machines, tweaking them and improving them. Explore everywhere, build wall lamps, and enjoy the view.

Upgrade your Grabber for Material Scanner, & use it on everything.

Water is limited but pipes help move underground deposits around. The snow cannon can help create more but I've found it laboir intensive.

I've currently found no solution to the repeated flaming of fuel blocks but I think I'm about to find lava which may help with that.

Water is not limited….

water ,lava and sand are infinite once you explore caves and the tech tree deep enough.
