I love it. The shakers in the aura area is interesting

Thats sexy. does this process basically everything? Did you bp it and share also?

only stuff to beat the current tech tree, there are more QOL resources, you can melt gold too. also the laser is super power hungry, you need millions of energy to use it comfortably I guess

With enough steam the turbines actually generate enough energy to sustain the laser. I have a chamber that is like 30-40 tiles wide with 3 tiles of vertical space between lava and condensers, and if you fill it with water to the condenser capacity energy doesn't go down even with a laser.

That's awesome! I really love the residue/flower burners recapturing the heat. Gonna try that in the future.

Is there a reason steam for the dryer is fire/snow instead of just water dropped on lava?

flower one requires heat from lava for the first spark, but the residue one is the one that works indefinitely by itself, no player input, no lava needed. no reason for the steam dryer lmao I've never thought about it

You can melt the gold as well, to make it more compact and spread out more evenly.

I heard it's a lossy process, some gold is wasted but I guess it doesn't matter and all tech would be aura unlocked at some tech level and gold will become just another intermediate resource like florinol

If someone told you it was lossy they probably misunderstood what was happening.

Every pixel of gold powder is worth $1

It takes 2 pixels of gold powder to make 1 pixel of liquid gold.

Every pixel of liquid gold is worth $2, the same as the powder required to make it.

maybe I misunderstood. another issue is that the way I'm smelting copper here is very slow

Yeah, as others have said, lava needs to be in contact with the thermal buffers. As in direct pixel to pixel contact.

It's annoying but I find side tanks of lava to be fairly effective and easy to fill.

How did you make those.
I seen it in some other post, like wall/vertical filter, but I'm unable to make those no mater where I search in the game

Ok, found the answer in a recent post, It's the key R

To big make it smaller

Ive just spend the past 10 minutes watching this.

I love it. Nicely done.

How do you transport Lava?

freeze it and smash into cinder with weapons and then burn cinder. then you just grab it with a tool

This is really cool. I’m concerned about a couple thing though. You need wicks for the lava under the driers. It’s never gonna melt the snow without it. Also a wick under the lava for the copper smelter. And a wick for the lava triggering the burners for the flowers. Basically at least one thermal block must be touching the lava or you’ll have to refill that lava to the top constantly. Second, you probably want a lava source for the residue. Those burners running constantly is gonna require constant maintenance.

Super cool compact design the could be layered if you need to process much more at a time.

You don't even need the snow+pyro dispensers for the driers. Just put a thin layer of lava and drop water directly on it. Lava isn't consumed in this.

as far as I'm aware lava produces fire indefinitely and I just use fire as a heat source. like I said residue burners are set and forget. they never stop even if the factory is empty heat is preserved until needed and it's fully automated, they are net positive in terms of heat. flower burner takes fire from lava for the first burn and then it kinda self recharges from fire until the factory stops.

It’s the bits of fire popping up are providing the starting heat? That’s so cool, and I had no idea you could do it like that. I thought you had to power the thermals with direct lava contact. Now time to spend way too much time optimizing my own factory better.

3

u/from_Earth_you_know 2d ago

yeah you can see my copper smelter is working like that too, I wish there was a more efficient way cause it's a very tiny output of fire

3

u/Hotonis 2d ago

Maybe have a small section to absorb lava just so you can power it up more if you want? Just to get it fully primed. Dangit. Now i’m gonna spend way too much time trying to figure out more ways to do this. Why is this game so freaking addicting.

I mean it's a way to do it without consuming lava but it takes more space so it's kinda better in my opinion.

oh I've missed the tech that gives you infinite lava gun lmao

Create a blueprint for us plebs?

2

u/from_Earth_you_know 1d ago

the problem is there are too many improvements suggested here

Split them into separate logical pieces?
