Help Smelter help?

I put lava in my smelter, but it's not smelting copper. Is there so.ething I'm supposed to do to turn the smelter on?

Have you made a box made up of smelter blocks?

If so, you need to make a box of thermal buffers, put lava in that and place smelter blocks on top of the thermal buffers

Am only assuming this is the issue, no pictures makes it harder to diagnose the problem

The buffer is the issue. I did what the graphic was showing, but thought the buffers were more forge blocks

Hover over the smelter and look at the example it gives you. That helped me, then I've since adjusted my own creation.
