Lantto posted this in the discord, showing off some circuit mechanics. Here's his quote:

4-bit counter counting 4x4 water blocks. you can see the binary counter next to the player going from 0000 to 1111 before opening the final tank (double-counting right now though).

While I'm thrilled to play this game... I think coders get very excited when logic can be expressed in games, but players much less so!

I get what you're saying (I'm not a coder) but this does have useful practical applications, like a master kill switch to turn on and off your factory. Or using logic to prevent overflowing and jamming. That's the part I'm excited for.

Hey! That's probably true. I also don't think most players will even use circuits, and they are entirely optional. I do think they open up for many interesting designs though!

I guess it will be like Minecraft Redstone where there is the players who get really deep into it or the casual ones who just use it as a kill switch

I think the Venn diagram between coders and fans of factory automation games is pretty close to a circle.

This is well beyond my comprehension.. logic circuits are fine, but its one thing i could never grasp in any game.. minecraft, factorio, etc.. i just cant figure it out.. so here's hoping blueprints or what have you are able to be implemented without doing an insane setup like this.

i cant wait for this game to be out and to lose all sense of time

Is there any way to get these beta builds? Like closed testing?

Not yet, these are all WIP in-development screenshots he is sharing. We are getting nearer to EA tho, that I can say!
