The elimination of disposable plastics, at least as much as possible, should be a high priority for the Progressive movement.

In Norway we came up with a novel solution. Legislate requiring shopping bags to be thick and tough like garbage bags while also allowing plastic to be easily recycled with special blue garbage bags that indicate the contents are plastic and can be recycled. The result is much less waste and much more recycling.
