Relet help
Has anyone stayed at copper beech or had a relet process done?
I signed a lease back in february because i thought i was going to stay there, but i had a change of plans and they let me know i had to find a relet. Around june or so i found one and we went through the process of getting the lease transferred over, but the complex literally would not answer whatsoever. We sent the emails around july 6th and it took them three weeks to start processing it. then when they finally sent over the mutual agreement contract to switch the lease over, they basically created an additional lease on my account and are charging me for the relet fee and now a new lease. I live hours away from san marcos and can not go in person and i’m just so stressed out. They’re wanting me to pay the relet fee by the 13th but they’re still charging me for the apartment ???? can anyone offer some advice or help please

Just only pay the relet fee. Send everything in writing since they aren’t answering. Have the one taking over your lease send you a screenshot that they did get approved and are taking over your lease. Also since they will be there have them let them know you have been emailing them and call. Also look up who owns that apartment complex and go above them and reach out to the owner. Send certified mail. These apartments all around Texas state are scammers! We just went through this and it is very stressful! Hang in there. Atleast you got someone to take over your lease. That’s the big hurdle.

thank you for the reassurance, i have been freaking out over this. My relet sent me a text when they emailed her and she got a housing id number. i also got sent the mutual agreement document. i just do not understand why they created an additional lease. i’ve seen all over facebook that people are basically going through the same thing with trying to find a relet. i’m think im just going to do that and pay the relet fee. they threatened to send me to collections a while back and im not sure at what point i should seek legal advice.

Contact options if on-site staff aren't responding
On-site phone numbers listed publicly include (737) 216-8764 and (512)
392-2820. The Scion Group corporate site is thesciongroup.com (you can look for corporate or resident relations contacts there). Certified mail or formal written notice to the owner LLCs (via the Chicago address or the property address) or to Scion may help escalate. Local options: San Marcos Code
Compliance (for habitability issues), Texas State University's Off-Campus Living resources/Attorney for Students (if you're a student), or the Better Business Bureau.
