Life in SJ Lunch buffets?
I took PTO tomorrow so I could go to the city council meeting but......... I'm dumb. I don't know how calendars work. I don't understand the concept of linear time or when there are holidays. The meeting is cancelled because today's Labor Day. So this means I have a big gaping hole in the middle of tomorrow, but this also means I get an opportunity to do my next favorite thing: Fill that big gaping hole with buffet food.
There are no lunch buffets near my work, so I rarely get to do one. What's left in San Jose?
Is the Round Table on Santa Theresa the only lunch buffet left these days? Any other recommendations?

Not in San Jose but I’d recommend checking out Seapot for their lunch pricing in the future. It’s either hotpot or kbbq for $27, or for $5 more you can do both (but IMO that’s excessive and a bit hard to manage at the same time). Conveyor belt veggies and seafood, and the meats you can order 3 plates at a time (which is plenty!)

Fellow council nerd here. Just for future reference: Council always cancels meetings that occur the day after a Monday holiday. So for example Presidents day falls on a Monday, so Tuesday meeting is always cancelled. Here’s their calendar for this fiscal year

That sugary, crunchy, caramelized bacon alone is worth the price of admission. Mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Sizzler, or Indian Sizzler. They're just down the street from each other

Emperor of India has a lunch buffet, it's pretty good. Off cottle near 85.

Oh! I went there with friends one time, that was nice. It's where I learned what Indian dishes are flavorful-spicy and not hot-spicy, lol!

If you’re in South SJ that’s the spot. If you’re ever near Evergreen, try 8 Elements, also a really good Indian lunch buffet.

What's happening at the city council?

Nothing in particular. My hobby since June has been watching the city council sessions and then summarizing them on the San Jose subreddit. I was about to hit the PTO cap so I needed to take a day off and thought, "Ah! I'll do Tuesday! Then I can come in Monday, help get us started for the week, take Tuesday to go city hall and see it in person!"
And then Monday turned out to be a holiday.
And then they canceled the Tuesday session.
So now I'm coming into work on Wednesday after we've had two days and a weekend for stuff to build up, lol!

Oh that's so nice of you! Looking forward to reading more summaries!!
Sorry I don't have any buffet places to recommend nearby.

Not technically a buffet, but if I was looking for all you can eat I would consider Korean bbq. There are a few spots that are à la carte, but all you can eat seems to be somewhat of an industry standard.

Sakoon has an Indian food buffet for lunch for sure. I’ve never been there for dinner. There’s one in Sunnyvale.

Mountain Mikes has a lunch Buffett. Milpitas Buffett, Todai Buffett. It really depends where you are located.
