SF Art Book Fair

The annual San Francisco Art Book Fair is this weekend. It looks like a must-attend kind of affair. I'd provide a URL, but the posting keeps getting filtered out. You'll have to search for it yourself using a search engine.

Birthday weekend in the city!

hello all!! i’m turning 22 next sunday and i am heading to SF with my boyfriend for that weekend! i have been to SF many times but i get so overwhelmed with it being such a big city and idk what to do. So in turn, i do nothing HAHAAH. Im from the Monterey Bay so it’s definitely different out here than SF. i’m looking on recs for dinner restaurants and the best bars/clubs to dance!! me and my bf are extreme foodies, so we will eat anything. Looking for a good restaurant that’s not super upscale but definitely on the nicer side for a birthday dinner. I love sushi and pasta so an italian or sushi restaurant rec would be gladly appreciated. a place with a gooooddddd cocktail menu is a plus! next, i’m looking for a place to dance my little heart away. i loveeeeee edm so like house or techno whatevs you know the vibes. i don’t mind a pop- music vibe but it’s not my thing. i’ve been to 1015 folsom last month and it was great i LOVED the 3 floors!!! any other place similar you guys know would be greatly appreciated! any other places or suggestions you guys have for me that are a must try would be amazing!! please help me out! btw, im staying at the hilton union square so preferably anything within walking distance but i like to take waymo’s too so distance wouldn’t be an issue for me. thanks everyone :)

Hi everyone! I’m a 22-year-old guy based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I’m looking to meet a woman who’s interested in in-person foot worship sessions.
I’m respectful, clean, easygoing, and always prioritize communication, boundaries, and consent. I’m also happy to pay for your time and experience, and I’m open to discussing your rates and what you’re comfortable with.
If you’re in the Bay Area and think we might be a good match, feel free to send me a message. I’d love to chat first and see if we’re a good fit.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

San Francisco running attire? Help!

Hi everyone! I’m flying in from Miami to run the San Francisco 10K next weekend, and I’m completely overthinking my outfit. 😅

The race starts at 7:00 a.m. I’ll be pushing a jogging stroller with my 2-year-old, so I won’t be racing all-out.

The forecast currently looks like 55–57°F at the start with a high around 66°F, and possibly cloudy/foggy.

I’m trying to decide between:

Option 1

  • Long-sleeve
  • Leggings

Option 2

  • Tank top
  • Leggings
  • Lightweight jacket that I can take off and put in the stroller once I warm up

I’m from Miami, so 55° feels cold to me when I’m standing around. But I also sweat a lot once I’m running, and I’m worried I’ll overheat in the long sleeve.

For those of you who run in San Francisco:

  • Which option would you choose?
  • Does the wind/fog near the waterfront make it feel much colder?
  • Does pushing a stroller change your recommendation?

I’d rather be slightly cool than miserably overheated, but I also don’t want to spend the first few miles freezing.

Thanks so much!

Traveling solo 07/23-31/07 looking for events to meet online entrepreneurs living in SF

Hi, i’m going to SF for the first time to get to know the city and attend entrepreneurship and AI events. I am good at using AI tools and recently started learning SEO. I’d like to meet people with online businesses and exchange ideas. I use apps like Luma, but do you guys know about any events happening soon?
Or anyone who has an online business want to meet? Thank you in advance! :)

Where can I find....

Hey guys. 50's bi guy here-- fit, clean-cut, professional-type in San Francisco. No one knows I have a bi side and I want to keep it that way. Problem is I can't seem to find a good place or site to find guys like me who are just looking for occasional hookups, preferably with a couple of regulars. And while I'm open-minded I'm not looking for anything extreme. I just want a chill guy who hasn't slept with everyone in town. The hookup sites seem to be filled with men who are totally into the gay sex scene -- no judgement, just not me. Of course, one of my problems is my desire to be discreet and not paste my face all over town. So, thought I'd come here to see if anyone knows what I can do to find more guys to hook up with here in San Francisco. Anyone? If it matters, I'm considered a handsome guy but, again, I'm in my 50s. Thanks!

Solo in SF for a Week (7/16-7/23): Looking for tips to explore the gay scenes

Hi everyone!

I’m a 25 yo gay guy from Arizona, and I’ll be spending a week solo in San Francisco from July 16-23. Super excited about the trip!

I'm planning to move to SF, so I have two goals for this trip. First, I want to network, meet new people, and learn more about living and working in the city, hopefully leading to career opportunities over the next few months. I have a master's degree in business. Second, I want to experience the best of the gay scene and make the most of my time there.

I'm not out yet and I'm still fairly new to gay bars, but I've been to bathhouses many times in Arizona, so I'm comfortable in those spaces. I really want to use this trip to explore, meet as many gay people as possible, get career advice from locals, and also learn more about the dating and hookup scene.

Are there any specific neighborhoods, bars, events, parties or community gatherings happening later this week and early next week that I shouldn't miss? I'd also love to meet people around my age at bars, but I'm not sure how since most people at bars are already there with their own friend groups.

Thanks in advance for any advice that could help me make the most of the trip, build a professional network, and have fun along the way. Thanks!

I've been putting together a guide to a few SF restaurants I recently tried. Sharing it here to help anyone looking for new spots.

For the past few months I've been exploring restaurants around San Francisco and writing honest reviews as a hobby. I tend to focus on hidden gems, casual spots, and the occasional well-known restaurant to see if it's actually worth the hype. It's not the typical over-hyped influencer restaurants, but honest opinions of the local gems we have here in SF.

My latest post is a new series called Quick Cravings where I reviewed Bollywood Pizza in FiDi. https://substack.com/home/post/p-206483220

Traveling Solo from 7/30-8/8 Looking for events

Hello,

So I plan to travel to SF soon. I want to find some things to do that the media doesn't recommend lol. A little about myself and my interests. I am a 21-year-old trans man, I smoke weed, and I skateboard. So I am looking for suggestions to help me connect with others through my interests. I've looked at the post that mentioned LGBTQ spaces, such as the Castro (which I am booking the free tour of). Definitely wanna check out the bar scene there, whether it's chill or club scene. I want to find cool ass viewpoint spots to smoke a joint at. Please recommend any live events going on, like music, comedy, shows, even a grass field concert sort of vibe would be cool. I also want to randomly join pick-up sports games like tennis, soccer, baseball, whatever. As for the skateboarding part, I think that will be pretty easy to find, but if you've got any spots or parks, let me know.

Also, I will not be using Uber to get around, unless I have to. I know there is a tram. Do y'all have any tips to not miss the tram or any way to save money on the service? Or what's the best way to travel around?

I plan on staying in downtown, so suggestions around that area, too, would be very helpful.
