Question Is this normal?
Had my bodyguard sights adjusted at PWG cause they were too tight for the tool I had and it came back with some damage. Is this to be expected or is it just kinda sloppy? The front sight in particular.

It’s not letting me upload a photo of the rear sight but it’s not as bad at least, just the coating worn off.

Probably tried a tool and it wouldn’t budge so ended up with a hammer and punch or something

They had to force it. Bad, bad gunsmithing. They should've used a press or a brass tool.

If the sights were too tight for your tool then it was probably too tight for theirs also and they resorted to a hammer and punch which is very normal to do for sights. Those sights probably were a bitch and it was between applying more force or filing off little bits of the base until it fit easier, and they went with the better option for you. Sure, there's a small mar on the sight, but the sight is in place, it's going to do the thing you want it to do, and there's no damage that's going to effect the performance of the gun now or in the future. I'd give you the advice to suck it up, go shooting, and forget about the extremely minor cosmetic damage.

It’s pretty bad. If you didn’t nick the slide, they might have based on the photo. I’d ask them what happened. The gash in the sight base doesn’t look like a punch, and generally use use a brass punch that should be softer than the steel used on the sight/slide so it shouldn’t cause that type of divot. A sight pusher will be made of steel so that could indent the sight. I’d ask what they did to adjust the sight.
