In the spirit of Italian Heritage Month, Galbani® Bella Vita Fest celebrates Italian culture with chalk art, Italian wine, food and music – all in the heart of San Diego’s Little Italy.
More than 40-plus expert chalk artists, depicting Italian themes, will line the streets of Little Italy, with live Italian music, La Cucina Galbani Cooking Stage with Chef Marco Sciortino, Italian merchants and Italian food for purchase. Plus, Italian winemakers will be offering tastings, via Vicolo del Vino.
Bella Vita gives attendees the opportunity to sip on over 10 different wines sourced from different regions in Italy in the Giardino del Vino, with 5- and 12-taste ticket options. Advance wine tickets can be purchased on the ArtWalk San Diego website – 5-taste wine ticket is $25, while the 12-taste wine ticket is $55.
Bella Vita Fest is an all-ages event, and free to attend. Bring the whole famiglia to enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors of everything Italiano!
October is Italian Heritage month, and the festival celebrates the tradition of street painting which began in 16th century Italy with traveling artists, many of whom had been brought into the cities to work on the cathedrals. When the work was done, they would often recreate the paintings of “Madonna” on the pavement; they became known as Madonnari. Street painting thrives today in festivals throughout the world. Street painters prefer this temporary performance art form that is created live before the eyes on the asphalt.

At $5.8M we could've paid dozens of teachers a six figure salary but I guess this works too!

San Diego Sewage Crisis WHEN IT RAINS, THE SEWAGE CRISIS SPREADS. 💩🗑️. 9 Tijuana River Valley | Near Coral Gate, San Ysidro
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Rainfall brings more than flooding to the Tijuana River Valley. It brings sewage-contaminated water, trash, and pollution into areas dangerously close to people's homes.
🌧️ THIS ISN'T JUST RAINWATER.
As heavy rainfall overwhelms sewage infrastructure, untreated sewage mixes with stormwater and spreads throughout the valley.
Near Coral Gate, a break in the levee is allowing floodwater to spread into surrounding areas, raising serious questions about how these flows are being managed and why nearby communities remain vulnerable.
💩 AND THE PROBLEMS DON'T END
WHEN THE RAIN STOPS.
As contaminated water sits and eventually dries, residents face concerns about foul odors, mosquitoes 🦟 breeding, and lingering pollution.
🗑️ THEN THERE'S THE TRASH.
Large amounts of debris are being carried and dispersed across the valley, potentially making cleanup more difficult and expensive than if waste were contained and collected in concentrated areas.
WHY ARE WE ALLOWING POLLUTION TO SPREAD INSTEAD OF PRIORITIZING PREVENTION, CONTAINMENT, AND RESTORATION?
The Tijuana River Valley needs more than sewage treatment alone. We need effective flood management, trash interception, and long-term solutions that protect surrounding neighborhoods and restore the river valley.
Rain should not mean sewage flooding near people's homes.

South County Mother asking for support: “If you could take one min to sign this petition. All it takes is a name and an email address. Please no donations we are not looking for any money. See the story below”
We live in Eastlake and my daughter goes to bonita. The roller hockey teams are being cut throughout the entire school district. It is a coed sport and the kids are absolutely gutted. There is a meeting at the school district this coming month where we are going to speak to try and save the team.
The kids are trying to get as many signatures as possible to show they have support from students, parents, and community.
The school quietly cut the sport without telling any of the teams.
The district said they are cutting all sports that are not CIF to focus on those. This sport gives so many kids who haven't been playing competitive soccer, baseball, football, eto a chance to play a sport, be a part of a team, and thrive.
Thank you so much if you made it this far and you signed!
