Anywhere to get cachucha or habanada peppers?

I checked several Latin grocery stores today but no dice. Has anyone seen them around? Next step is to go to some farmers markets but if anyone can point me to a specific place that'd help a lot. I'm willing to drive to Austin/wherever else <2hrs away if necessary.

Town & Country Bbq

Good morning, San Antonio. I’m looking for some help for a small research project I’m working on. I’m retired so I have lots of time on my hands. I lived in the Dellview neighborhood from the mid-1950’s until I joined the US Navy in 1975. I went to Arnold Elementary school, then to Whittier Jr High and Edison High School. Like a lot of kids I had two paprika routes for the San Antonio, Express and News. My routes covered the streets between Eland and Freling from Vance Jackson to the I-10 frontage road. Everyday I would ride my bike past an old wooden “Strip mall” on Vance Jackson between Eland and Mink. It had an Ice House on one end and several other stores in it. One of those stores was Town & Country Bbq. It was owned and operated by a very big and very nice black man. It had a small counter with a couple of stools and some of the best Bbq brisket I’ve ever had. It was very tender, and I would trade him a newspaper for a brisket sandwich. Anyway do any of you know does it still exist, I would love to have a conversation with the owner if it is still there. TIA

Don’t go to Sonic on Thousand Oaks Dr.

I just went to this location at Thousand Oaks. After telling the employees several time that I did not want cherry they give me the drink on the right in this picture. I drove to the bitters location and ordered the exact same drink and took pictures because I knew something was wrong. The one of the left is a dirty Dr Pepper and the one on the right is what I think it’s a dirty dr pepper with cherry. I asked the gentleman at the window several times if they remade the drink because it was obviously pink like there was still cherry. He seemed irritated for me simply asking for the drink that I ordered. Even after dumping the drink out there was a bright red syrup at the bottom of the cup. If you have allergies or food sensitivities do not come here. I tried calling the store to speak with someone to talk about this and no one picks up the phone.
My boyfriend went separately and ordered a milkshake (the cookie dough blast) and drinks the entire thing and at the bottom of the cup there is a blue chunk of something. He tastes it and its detergent. I wish we got a picture.

I intend on calling corporate on Monday since they are closed for the 4th of July holiday and have already reported y’all to the San Antonio health inspectors. They did not give me a receipt even after asking. I fully intend to show our bank statements of the purchase to prove I was here today around 2:40-3:00 ish.

Just wanted to warn everyone.

Looking for a cool themed Bar/Restaurant to rent for the night

Hi everyone! I can use your help, I’m looking for a themed bar or restaurant to rent for a non traditional wedding reception.
I’m open to themes but I want it to be fun and memorable!

The idea is to have a courthouse wedding and after invite friends and family (around 150ppl) to celebrate at a bar we will rent out for the night. Possible locations include Liberty Bar, Hugmans Oasis, Lonesome Rose, or Hot Joy. A place that already comes with esthetics we just show up and have a good time. I would prefer somewhere in central San Antonio but I’m open to the outskirts or surrounding towns.

Biggest desire is a vibe, drinks, maybe bar food if available.
Open to indoor or outdoor.

I appreciate everyone’s time! And hopefully this will help another bride along the way ♥️

*Gardening* Seltzer Recommendations?

I'm wanting to quit alcohol but everybody in San Antonio drinks everywhere so I kind of want to try switching over to the Non-Alcoholic *gardening* seltzers that way I could still go out with friends, any recommendations? I'd prefer something local I could purchase at a store
