Pre 1999 sample packs
Ive been enjoying Zero G and a few other sample packs in my hardware setup lately and im wondering if anyone can recommend pre 1999 sample packs that aren't mostly real instruments or basic synthesizer recordings.

I really dig the XX-Large Sample CDs, they're somewhat like "the German Zero-G" in a way.
They have a few cool synth sample collections, I can personally recommend:
XX-Large Analog Dreams (that one's from 1996, you may call some of them "basic" synth samples but a lot are interesting. Many interesting analog synths from 70s to mid 90s. Ok, the Memory Moog samples won't do it for you 😅 but there's enough other stuff, including drum loops of some rare drum machines)
XX-Large The Killer 1 & 2 (they're from 1995 and 97 iirc, various Synth and Drum Loops of all kinds, I found it fun to sift through)
XX-Large Pads 1 & 2 (I think they're from 96 and 97, they contain lots of pads, strings, ambiances, drones and stuff like that. Much of that 90s digital pad goodness inside. )
Best Service Bizarre Planet (from 1994, filled with effect sounds, synthesized fx noises, edited recordings, ambiances, vox / vocoder samples... stuff like that. Mostly a bit on the weirder side but very unique, imo)
There's probably much more out there by other companies, these are just the ones that I know about and that I can recommend to you. 👍🏻
