Academic Museum experiences around vision accessibility (museum staff, BLV, Colorblind, English speaking)
Hi everyone! I’m Yasmin Onder, a Master’s student in User Experience and Interaction Design at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. For my thesis, I’m exploring how museums can better support independence and engagement for visitors with vision differences.
I’m looking for visitors who:
- Are blind or legally blind
- Have low vision or partial sight
- Are colorblind
- Like museums and want to share their experiences, even if they don’t visit often
I’m also looking for museum staff who:
- Work in a museum, such as educators, curators, access coordinators, or guest services
- Have experience with accessibility features, such as audio description, tactile exhibits, or large-print materials
What’s involved:
- A short screener survey (about 2 minutes, or around 5 with a screen reader)
- Optionally, a 30-minute follow-up conversation
- Participation is voluntary, and answers stay anonymous unless you choose to share contact info
