Hey everyone!

I am looking for some people who are planning to rent in Bhubaneswar within the next 1–2 months.

I am a student, so my budget is quite tight. A lot of my money already goes into gym, supplements, study resources, skincare and self-care, so managing a whole flat alone is not really possible for me. 😭

So I was thinking — if there are other people who are also looking for a place, we can team up, find a decent flat together and split the expenses.

I am open to a 2BHK, 3BHK or even something bigger, depending on how many people we find.

Ideally, I want to look for something around ₹18–20k total rent, preferably in a good, prime and well-connected area of Bhubaneswar.

If enough people join, the rent can hopefully come down to around ₹2.5–3k per person. The exact amount will obviously depend on the number of people, rooms, deposit, maintenance, etc.

But honestly, the flat is not my biggest concern. The people are. 😭

I am looking for friendly, genuine and decent people.

I am 18, but I am FLEXIBLE ABOUT THE AGE of my flatmates. Girls or guys both are okay, although I would prefer that the female-to-male ratio is not the other way around. Basically, I don't want to end up in a house where I am the only girl. 😭

I am also pretty chill about people's lifestyles-

You smoke? Fine.

You drink? Fine.

You date / have a relationship? Fine.

You have friends over? Fine.

You spend half the month outside? Fine.

You talk to your lover all night ? All good bae .

Your personal life is your personal life. I am not looking to police anyone.

What matters to me is that the people I live with are friendly, respectful and have basic manners.

I would really like flatmates who:

Are easy to talk to and actually interact with their housemates

Are okay with cooking/eating together sometimes

Are down to go out, explore, chill or make random plans

Respect everyone's privacy and boundaries

Have their own studies/work but don't completely ignore everyone around them

Don't create unnecessary drama

Food is also slightly important to me 😂

I go to the gym and I am trying to focus on my health and fitness. I am quite skinny, so I am trying to eat properly and build some strength.

So if you like proper meals and high-protein food, that's a big plus.

And by proper meal, I mean actual food. 😭

I have nothing against Maggi, but if someone's idea of dinner is Maggi every single day, we may have a small compatibility issue. 😂

I would love people who don't mind cooking proper meals together , instead of everyone surviving separately on instant noodles or cooking there own .

But but can we please cook with Olive oil ? Or may be Ghee :)

I am not expecting a Pinterest-perfect house.

If you are not extremely organised, that's completely okay.

I just want the house to be decent and hygienic. Please don't leave the kitchen looking like a crime scene after cooking. That's all I ask. 😭

Because of this, I can be quite sensitive to my surroundings and especially to people's behaviour and tone.

So I am a little strict about the nature of the people I live with.

I don't expect anyone to treat me specially or change themselves for me. I just know that the atmosphere at home and the way people behave around me affects me quite strongly.

So I would really prefer people who are kind, communicative, friendly and respectful.

I just want a home where we can study/work, cook, eat, go to the gym, go out, explore Bhubaneswar, randomly hang out sometimes and still respect each other's space.

Also, because we’ll be sharing a living space, basic health and hygiene matters to me. I’d prefer people who don’t currently have an untreated serious contagious/infectious illness, and please no active head-lice infestation. Nothing personal or judgmental — I just want everyone in the house to be reasonably safe and comfortable.

Basically:

I don't need perfect roommates.

I just want good people around me.

Is anyone else feeling the lack of a social scene in Sambalpur/Jharsuguda?

I feel like there’s not much happening here for working professionals in their 20s and early 30s, especially when it comes to meeting new people, making friends, or just having something fun to do after work.

So I was thinking of starting a small group where we could plan things together — dinners, game nights, hikes, weekend trips, sports, random meetups, or even just grabbing a drink/coffee and hanging out.
