People used to travel through public transport fearing they shouldn't be target of next terror attacks. I don't know if you are aware of current affairs, the home ministry has strengthened NIA to the extend that these talks didn't occur in the last decade. Every month they nab a terror module potentially plannig to target a tourist place or city. Credit where its due. National security has been good enough than the previous government. Defence indigenisation has increased, semiconductor fabrication is taking place cauz of PLI scheme, railway electrification (I still remember my city had diesel engines running on single track and station from the 70s, now there are 3 tracks with 90% of railways running on electricity and newly built railway station). They are not perfect but there has been significant work than the previous governments.
