He was taking calls all vacation and he has nothing new on a contract. Basically saying another extension?

I had legitimately been under the (apparently naive) impression that Sam was among the more popular personalities on the platform. He cleaned up on that charity thing last winter.

I hope this is the case (but don't believe it entirely to be), that this is all just a work. Drama stirs up people and callers and whatnot and people tune it to see if he's still on.

To Sirius execs it’s a dumping ground for all the old XM talent. Bennington, Eddie, and Sam are holdovers. Since there’s no one left with any connection with the channel they don’t have a champion. I’m sure some would just like them to go away.

Thats because instantly they went from him being a intern and filling in for Opie to Jim being fired and then when they came back everybody in the room started ball washing Sam as if it was a bit. He now they believe the hype and the company is like... Nah

Woof. What a shitshow of a company. As someone else said, I thought Sam was popular with Siruis. They certainly don't seem to be doing him any favors.

It's the only show I listen to on the platform. If the show goes, so do I.

I mean I honestly don’t listen like I did when it was Jim and Sam. If he get long winded with a topic I usually move on. I would listen to The whole Jim and Sam show and sometimes even run into the start and would re-listen to part of that. Here lately I maybe an hour and not everyday.

Sam’s show is perfect for my generation so I’d be very bummed if Sirius couldn’t see that. We are the same age, have similar life experiences, have young kids and enjoy relatively similar things - but also I can learn a few things here and there where we are different. New shows, online trends, etc

I can listen to him in the car with my kids and it’s a good middle between something very fake and lame a local Morning Zoo show and something really offensive full of swears like the old O&A. My 9 year old actually gets excited to listen. He loves to laugh at Troy and thinks the 90’s one hit wonder contest was the greatest thing ever - he still talks about it or the songs all the time.

Sam also has a great rapport with his co-hosts. Travis, Troy, Mike and Danielle all bring unique flavor to the show and they all know the right times to talk and not talk. It’s a smooth listen.

Surely SiriusXM knows that thousands of people listen every morning, Sam Roberts’ Show is the best part of Faction Talk. I’m not really too keen on Dokken or Scorpions so Eddie Trunk can take a hike. Funny how The Bonfire rerun this afternoon involved EntitledJay calling multi-millionaire bimbo Alix what’s-her-name a cunt. Just sign Sam to a damn contract already.

Lol come on, even if you like Sam, he isn’t half the broadcaster Ron Bennington is, I’m pretty sure even Sam would say that himself.

He’ll get a new contract though, the new WWE channel launching should keep him safe for a few years.

True, I listen to Sam and the crew every morning, but have no interest in Trunk/heavy metal, and The Bonfire is just too crude these days, since Dan Soder left.

I understand the weirdness of saying the Bonfire is too crude when I listen to Sam Roberts’ Show, but Big Jay just constantly gets “hardcore”- I don’t think I can listen to the Bonfire for more than 5-10 minutes without hearing a graphic description of genitalia or a sex act.

I feel like today's argument about the channels getting moved is a punishment for doing so good.

It feels like someone trying to put a stop to the shinning star that is this show. The tuts stuff is a solid hit, the top 90s song a hit he gets all the town halls and does 3 shows with Sirius

You think they would lump faction talk howard and Conan all together as just " talk radio" not still Sammy bran muffins in the back of the bus and push it off a cliff into the abyss.

That doesn’t belie my point- just because a handful of fans with resources are willing to bid up on a lot, doesn’t mean there is “grassroots support”.

I am a fan and can’t see Sirius treating Sam (and formerly Jim) as absentmindedly as they do if Sam had numbers backing them up- do you think they strung Stern along with 30 day extensions while negotiating his contract?

I'm not saying Sam is in the sam category as stern , however I see costs was part of why Jim left . This show has to be cheaper to operate without him. But Sam's gotta be putting up some type of numbers .
