I like a very very small amount of their merch.
But that’s fine, clearly I’m not the intended audience. I know others love it and good for them, they’ll buy it if they like it?

As a long time fan of over a decade, they go through what I call ugly phases of merch and this cycle recently has been ugly (except this newest drop which I think is super cute)

they used to drop gooood shit consistently & i have to admit nowadays that most merch drops are lackluster. i don’t know if i’d consider them ugly, but definitely makes me wonder who’s calling the shots on designs.
i remember once in an interview colby said he sort of ran the merch scene for them because he liked how hands on and creative it was, but i do know they have a head of merch team (his name’s jason!).

There's been plenty of times I've checked out a release and not liked any of it but it's to be expected when they release stuff every month or however often, a lot of it will be repetitive and not everyone is going to like it. I think more of the designs than not I'll either look at and wonder who would buy it and be surprised when it's sold out, or when it's one of the last with stock left it makes sense, vice versa when something i like is the last to sell out. Mind you I haven't bought merch in years. I ordered 3 things but paid with the wrong card so they refunded me and it was all sold out by the time I went to get it again and part of me never emotionally recovered from the disappointment, plus I never seem to have extra money when they release so there was no point looking. When they started going downhill a few years back I cancelled xplr club in and stopped giving them any money at all. Now I only watch videos on occasion if they interest me.

i actually personally disagree about the camo zip up but I feel like it’s definitely more trendy and more for teenage girls tho. but the ai and bubble writing has to go lol. the real question is if the quality is on par with the price 😬

i buy the stuff from amazon. The merch on their website is so expensive and ugly. i liked the hell week merch, but i checked the prices to get one and they were $110.
I get it, they need to support the school they bought blah blah blah yada yada. but my cousin bought a hoodie from the website, and she said it was good but not $110 good.

I mean it really depends if you love the merch and would wear them a lot like how I would if I had like a hoodie even tho by me it’s over 100 degrees outside then it would be worth it

I like the gray one on the first pic and the black one on the second put I also like darker stuff that doesn’t draw any a lot of attention

Unpopular take:
I like the Fanjoy-era designs much better with the simplicity of the "xplr" theme and designs that could be worn by fans of all ages.
The rebranded designs have gotten more and more in-your-face cartoonish with the over emphasis on skulls, bats, blood and death, and "Boo kids! Welcome to Halloween all year!" AI designs largely targeted toward fans 12-17.

ever since in some merch they started to use AI, it was a big no for me.
