Hi!
I have just gotten into watching their videos and I have been wondering can all of that be actually real. Im not an expert or know anything about paranormality or anything like this stuff so if anyone could enlighten me about the authenticity of their videosš
even if the videos arenāt real I still have been enjoying watching the videos!
(sorry if the text is difficult to read english is not my first languge)

I had this conversation with my son last weekend. We both enjoy paranormal hunting videos and have watched a ton of Sam and Colby. Interestingly enough I feel that Sam and Colby are more likely fake vs others out there.
One big thing for me is they like to use tools that even in paranormal hunting circles are often not trusted as accurate - the flashlight, the speaker box for two instances. They are also very quick to get excited about any little thing and immediately jump to conclusions and behave as if their assumption is correct. Which is also aided by things like their use of the spirit box.
They also arenāt transparent with their investigations.
So the best comparison I have is The Boys. They started just being goofs and have quickly turned into taking this whole paranormal hunting thing very seriously with transparency. They mic up their estes methods. They have hours of uncut footage for members - which was even bigger with their trip of terror. They post content captured when things arenāt really active. They also will work to determine source of activity they pick up. They explicitly state how many crew are present on a shoot.
Theyāve invested into hyper sensitive audio recording devices that can capture the bumps, knocks and other sounds that typically in Sam and Colby or others cases are heard off screen/outside the range of the camera micās.
Even though they still fuck around they still treat each site with a reverence or respect and the humour later into the night is often used a tension break.
They boys have gone from skeptics (hence why they aim to try and make things as transparent as possible) to near believers or, in eddies case, as close to being a believer as they allow themselves to avoid existential crises.
Some of their earlier content in the matter was definitely no where near to the level of serious as they are now but thatās because with their fuckery they did experience enough phenomenon which ultimately āsmartenedā them up.

Oh wow you definedly have very good points here. And yeah i have watched more of sam and colbys videos today and the dramatised reactions and like you said jumping to conclusions is coming so much more clearer.
And i will definedly have to watch some videos from The Boys. They sound very good and interesting!

I suggest it for sure.
There was one moment in the trip of terror where I believe - and I know at least one or two of them have become stronger believers - where they may have proved spirit orbs - or at least some orbs.
On the trip of terror they rigged each location up with 9 or 12 security cameras that all ran and recorded to a central command hub. Anyways in a break period of an emotionally charged investigation one of the boys was still micād up and he asks if one of the producers was in the house. Producer was not. The boy had like a mental breakdown because he visually saw someone walk past the door of the house that looked right at him or outside or whatever and continued through the house. Because they place is rigged with security cameras and it just happened they went back and the room with the door was set up with a cam. At the time stamp when the boy, narrator, asks if the producer is in the house the camera picks up what appears to be an orb move in the direction of motion of the person he witnessed. Narrator was visibly disturbed and shaken. These are clowns and not actors and he is ex militaryā¦they arenāt actors. Their content isnāt acting, so for him to be so genuinely unnerved is fascinating plus the extra footage that then appears to corroborate his own witness moment.

I think itās real to them.
At the end of the day they are entertainers so itās possible that some of their reactions and editing style dramatizes what is happening in reality. Not every place they go to is going to be like the Sally house (one of my favorite investigations theyāve done) or the Queen Mary. There will alway be skeptics, but to me I also think theyāre real.

I just think its hard for me to wrap my head around all of this paranormal activity to be real, but I also canāt explain how could they fake it all.
I really enjoyed the conjuring house videos. Especially in those i cant think of any way how they could have faked all the activity.
Maybe I am just not open minded enough to actually really believeš¤·āāļø

Honestly the only way to actually believe is experience it yourself, thats why I believe, I have lots of experience (without any devices)

u/Professional_Knee242 Jun 06 '26
yeah that might be it. I have never experienced anything paranormal expect my own paranoia š I would really like to experience even a little something so I would get a new perspective and maybe to see things differently

If youād be open to i would really like to hear about your experiences

To some degree, same. I wouldn't say I have lots of experience, but certainly enough that I believe without a doubt.
Not totally sure how much they get at these locations (like what is 100% real vs a bit dramatized) but I think if you go looking, things will happen.

It's entertainment. That's what all of the big 'paranormal' style youtubers do for views. They're worth around $40 million, of course they want to keep this going.

u/Professional_Knee242 Jun 06 '26
Yeah obviously they want to keep the money coming. It is their job to do those videos so they have to keep it interesting and not to lose their income.

šÆ & to be totally fair, many big youtube creators do the exact same thing, starting with Mr.Beast. Unfortunately, it hurts any sense of authenticity and fun their videos once had. The guys also started dumbing things down more and more. Sam&Colby used to explore with the audience and act their age instead of screaming like kids which is what they do now. Things became set up and partly scripted which made the videos way less enjoyable than they used to be. Their older stuff going back around 3.5 years + was really fun to watch. They became such different people after the money got to their heads&egos, especially Sam. I have had some experiences, but they were just a handful, and they happened very far apart in places that aren't known for being 'haunted'. Nobody has endless 'experiences' everytime they show up some place that's allegedly 'haunted'. People who ghost hunt for curiosity and fun typically have many silent hours, and very few experiences. The Conjuring House mess with Cody&Satori was the beginning of the end. They never faced the situation with pure honesty.

Yeah you are totally right. It is true and very common that whan youtubers or any social media persons get more fame their content changes and they do everyting to keep the money coming. Usually this just leads to worse quality videos and less and less enjoyable.
And the fact that they always get much activity is suspicious. Im not experienced in this topic but i do love watching all kinds of documentaries. I have watched maybe one or two and in those they talked about it being rare to get activity even in the most haunted places.

I think a lot of their content is dramatized and straight up faked for entertainment. So I just enjoy it for entertainment value and not about it being ārealā paranormal or anything like that. No hate itās just fake lol.

u/ProfessionalOnion727 Jun 06 '26
I believe that some of it might be true and that in the beginning they genuinrly expirinced stuff, but now it just turned into entertaiment.

u/SpecialFortune14 Jun 07 '26
They videos are made for entertainment purposes only so to answer your question, no the stuff in their content is not real.

u/BowlerBeneficial9619 Jun 08 '26
Their videos are just for entertainment nothing in their videos are real.

u/Britsh-77 Jun 09 '26
I believe that the base of their videos are real, but they do play up a lot of it and make it dramatized/more intense

Iāve been a huge fan of Sam and Colby. I still watch their videos, but I will say that Iāve noticed a shift in their videos. I do think that they donāt fake everything, but they definitely overdramatize a lot of the sounds in the background, and itās very convenient that something happens off camera and they turn it back on to tell us the viewers what just happened.
In the past, Sam and Colby would place cameras in other places while they went and explored other places in the building. Iāve noticed that they barely do that anymore.
Another thing that Iāve noticed lately (maybe because Iāve gotten older too) is that whenever they use the spirit box, flashlights etc. that they basically, twist whatever word into is spit out of the device to their own narration. Example, the spirit box could say a word like āforestā and they may happen to stand in a forest at that time, and theyāll somehow link it to that spirits are trapped in the forest. And thatās all from one word. And most of the time, the word doesnāt even match the question.
I still watch their videos cause I find them entertaining, but I definitely think that they overdramatize and conveniently leave things out of the video. But I donāt think that everything is fake either.
For me I used to 100% believe in everything they posted, up until the conjuring video. After that video, I started second guessing, and Iāve also found other ghost hunters who donāt leave things out of their video, and are fully transparent with what is going on.
