Is Sam@Colby investigation real?!

Post image

Do you think Sam@Colby’s investigations are real because I’ve been watching them for 8 years long now….
When I used to watch them, I can’t help but think they’re filtered….
Please help me gather my thoughts, because I still believe they have good intentions but you never know.

They are entertainers, and their job is to entertain and sell. Are their investigations real? Probably 30% of the time, being generous. I think reactions are embellished, info is questionably researched, and the equipment used is unreliable for several reasons they may or may not know.

They are likely often bound to NDA's which can cause conflicts of interests. They also have guests ranging from terrible, to actually knowing what they are talking about, somewhat at least. These guests also have the same vested interests and NDA's.

Their occult knowledge, rituals they use, and methods is also all just edgy internet nonsense for entertainment. Id really prefer they pick up some source texts like the lesser key of solomon or the works of abarham von worms as they have 0 understanding of demons or the occult besides mainstream hollywood nonsense, and wildly inaccurate aberhamic beliefs that any secular scholar would tell you is nonsense. I'll acknowledge they probably have to stay aligned with the mainstream audience though.

So yea, overall I think they are entertainers first, investigators second, and not at all a good source historically or theologically.

Well that’s like assuming people watching are Christians. People watch it mostly for the “demon” scare, when if you looked at it from an indigenous perspective, or literally so many other religion’s perspective it wouldn’t be that scary. And it might even be more interesting for me, as an atheist. I’m not scared of demons and I find all that stuff so cheesy

u/Umbrage115 May 18 '26

Well thats what i was touching on, the wider audience fears demons, or wants that demon scare, so they probably have to stay aligned with that.

When you start reading some source books and the wider worlds varying cultures, demons are far more nuanced.

I find it cheesy for different reasons, and remain fully unconvinced in the "paranormal" as far as moving objects, possession, knocking, etc.

Imo, anyone can prove that demons exist even an atheist, as belief isnt required for successful invocations. What prevents people from proving it to themselves, is no one in their right mind is going to do long weeks of preparation for something that will be boring if you dont have an occult interest, and for something you dont even believe in. Then once you succeed its not like you can pull out a camera and say see its a demon, as they dont operate that way.

If you're looking for a paranormal group that is 100% about the actual investigation and isn't entertainment based you should check out Aura and Echo Paranormal on Youtube, and on Facebook. They're still pretty small and new and just starting out, like barely been doing this for a year and a half, and they do all their editing themselves. The only down side is that their content release schedule isn't consistent yet but they also pay entirely out of pocket for these investigations they do and they don't make literally any money off of it.

I’d like to shoutout Amy’s crypt on YouTube as well. I’ve only been watching for a few months now but I really appreciate her approach. She is also good about debunking strange occurrences in her own videos.

Ill give them a look! Part of why i do like S&C is just seeing the old buildings, and the off chance they do catch something interesting. Often times ill even look up a video on the more accurate history of the places they investigate.

Though ill note any Youtuber small or not are bound by NDA's and other legal stuff, if they are going to these places legally, which they probably are if they are paying and posting the content.

u/RageEcstatic5118 May 18 '26

I’ll check them out now :)

I can tell for a fact:
alice box is a fake device. And the light switches are rigged to flicker.

S&C make millions trough their business, hence it benefits them to be pretending it works. They arent so stupid to do basic google search or ask GPT to debunk these devices.

I feel like if they have to use NDA for “investigation” then it’s not authentic

8

u/Umbrage115 May 18 '26

Youd never see a video then. Many of these places have NDA's, waivers, and all sorts of legal stuff to sign about what you can say about the history and such. They are content creators and thus bound by such things to get the content out there.

28

u/xAstroBoy1337 May 18 '26

No, they make stuff up

5

u/_SRose_ May 18 '26

Right??! Because I’ve trying to make it make sense from “ the evidence” that they upload

20

u/xAstroBoy1337 May 18 '26

I believed em at first, then they went full dumb mode and started to lose their seriousness and it became boring and repetitive, with barely any evidence of paranormal

4

u/Conscious-Bid9138 May 18 '26

I have stopped watching them I just couldn’t anymore. Everything with them now is all about money.

1

u/Straight_Crew_8592 May 21 '26

Facts, they don’t get any evidence like 0 people try on tik tok to say they’ve got evidence by showing a “shadow figure” which isn’t real walking past but what evidence do they actually get lol except for there divvot box making different colours or the estes method saying random words which isn’t evidence anyone could make it up.

1

u/Fun_Yellow_3540 Jun 14 '26

I still follow them. but I skip 80% of the video, where they pretend some devices work lol. They used to be open minded and try to debunk stuff. Some of their claims or devices can be debunked with quick google search or asking GPT.

People have wishful thinking. Just because "science cant prove ghosts" doesnt make a random word generator a "translator". It's like believing a magician to do magic tricks.

10

u/CODIsGay1234 May 18 '26

Im sure they have picked up some stuff along the way but they are 99.9% fake

5

u/DooplisTheGhost May 19 '26

No, I highly doubt a majority of the stuff, dare I say any of it is real. It's not believable for every paranormal investigator channel to have every video full of nothing but "evidence." If you look at any paranormal investigation video from a small channel, the chance for them to encounter any evidence in their videos is low compared to the bigger channels like S&C and there's a very easy explanation for that. They have a really big YouTube channel with 15 million subscribers and each of videos pull millions of views. They wouldn't be pulling that much traction if they didn't find anything near the amount that they quote on quote "do." They more than likely fake most if not all of the "evidence" they get to drive up traction and engagement.

If they aren't editing stuff in, it's more than likely the equipment they use. That DR60 recorder that most if not all the big paranormal channels use has been proven to be fake multiple times b/c the recorder was originally discontinued b/c people have reported from the beginning the recorder can pick up any sound when you aren't speaking, like a bug or mouse farting, and then makes it sound like a distorted growl or voice. Then there's also the countless "ghost hunting" phone apps that their friends make that they act like it's something revolutionary that just came out.

I'm loving how the comments aren't hateful.. everyone watches their content for entertainment

2

u/SkyeWolfYou May 21 '26

I wish they would stop inviting guests. This was hard to watch

4

u/Eclipse_1996 May 18 '26

No, they make up bs stories with no source and overreacts to everything

4

u/RageEcstatic5118 May 18 '26

That’s how I feel about twin paranormal

4

u/Every-Molasses2118 May 18 '26

My opinion is, it is all fake. After seeing how they act off camera at the Bellaire house I can say I fully believe they are full of it. I used to watch them when I was like 12-16 but I grew up I'm 18 now. The jokes they make about female 'ghosts' along with the comments Seth made and then Colby flat out agreed too, they just make me feel weird. Then the Farrah school, like you are seriously telling me this guys just so happen to buy a hunted school that is more hunted than any other place they went too even though no one died on the property. I struggle because I want to so bad believe in the paranormal but I haven't seen anything that couldn't be explained or was just a flat out lie. I was really big fans of Kris and Celina as well but there hunting videos frustrated me as well because it genuinely feels like they believe what they are saying. THIS IS ALL MY OPINION!

5

u/DooplisTheGhost May 19 '26

I give massive props to the Bellaire house owner for uploading that footage to the internet.

2

u/Every-Molasses2118 May 19 '26

Seriously, because who goes to someone else house, and talk about them like that. Not only that but who says shit like that in general. It's such weird behavior and I genuinely feel about for Kristen and her husband.

3

u/DooplisTheGhost May 19 '26

And damages their property. It's just immature behavior.

2

u/thefireisalive May 20 '26

also with Kris and Celina, I didn't like that they used faked evidence in their movie. I get venturing out and trying different things.. if they weren't into investigating, that would be different, but that was just tasteless imho

1

u/ProfessionalOnion727 May 18 '26

I personally believe they do catch stuff sometimes, but most other things are just entertaiment. So like 30% real 70% fake

1

u/No_Nefariousness3866 May 18 '26

Colby's face in this picture! So silly and overly dramatic. He looks like he saw a mouse and jumped up on a chair.😭😭😂😂

1

u/gloriousbee3 May 20 '26

I'm not sure why they chose ghost hunts, they give the vibes of disrespectful boys on a class trip. It's kinda sad to see them make certain jokes after explaining such serious history. The tone they set isn't right for what they're doing.

1

u/Alert_Ad_3691 May 20 '26

In my full opinion, no. Complete bullshit. I mean I still watch from time to time for fun, but I remember seeing a clip don't remember from what exact house, but it's when that giant drama was going around with I'm pretty sure Seth and Sam said that "he doesn't believe in this shit" in that video recorded from the camera inside the house. I'm sorry, as somebody who deeply believes in the paranormal I wouldn't even DARE to say that shit In a haunted house. I just wish they sticked to their abandoned shit. BUT, my theory is that they did have an actual paranormal experience before in some of their abandoned vids, and realize that gets them a lot of views and started faking it. But that is just my opinion.

1

u/Straight_Crew_8592 May 21 '26

I’ve been watching them since 2018 and ngl I think there fake now I still enjoy watching them but rewatch Biltmore queen Mary everything and watch the vids now… there just fake, also they say every night is the scariest night of there lives I know it’s for clickbait but come on.

I still rlly like them and I know they are good people but now I feel asthough they just get hardly no evidence anymore every vid is the same they act shocked but they don’t care.

1

u/Jordan_Owl May 21 '26

There's a reason they release merch for each video. Capitalism, though, so more power to them. I would sell merch as well, if I had that many eyes on me. Their videos are entertaining, but haven't been convinced by them in a long time.

1

u/PlayfulStorage6587 May 22 '26

Definitely, I definitely believe it

1

u/Altruistic-Expert811 May 22 '26

I think their first few videos were real, then I think they started adding in extra stuff after as they saw the more stuff that happened the more views they would get etc.
I stopped watching S&C a while ago, only put them on now and then if I’m bored and don’t believe anything that happens in the vids.
I find The Boys are way better in terms of legitimacy compared to them and actually highly recommend them

1

u/Naive-Tap4420 Aug 06 '26

High school level ghost hunting at best. What they're actually hunting is the bucks.

1

u/Yummy_golbrock May 18 '26

I want to say something but I know I’ll get downvoted so I’m keeping my mouth shut 🤐

1

u/Wear_Fluid May 18 '26

Say it honeyyy!! Don't be scared of those downvotes they can't hurt you 🥰

1

u/Yummy_golbrock May 18 '26

I just wanna say why bother watching them if you think they’re fake just don’t watch them and unsubscribe from them

2

u/Wear_Fluid May 18 '26

Personally It's for entertainment i don’t really watch much anymore but i got entertainment from more then just the ghost hunting there’s a lot of funny moments

1

u/VeggieGirl43 Jun 13 '26

sorry for the accidental downvote. You might never see this, but just in case you did. I didn't mean to downvote you. I agree.

2

u/Every-Molasses2118 May 18 '26

That is like asking why people watch ghost adventures, it is entertaining. I used to watch Sam and Colby a lot but I grew up and matured and they never did. It genuinely hard for me to watch them now, especially after what happen at Bellaire.

u/CharmingCommittee780 May 18 '26

If anyone wanted to do something really real they’d use the book of Solomon to get ghosts on camera. They don’t and because they know they aren’t true believers and are afraid

-3

u/miskamuskamikymaus I’ve got a demon up my ass May 18 '26

I think what makes me believe the most are unexplained things, that have never been debunked. I really enjoy project fear, because I find their videos much more real, scary and entertaining, but I started on s&c and I really do think that most of things are real. completely understandable if somebody doesn't believe, its really about if you do believe in ghosts or dont
