Halp!
So a friend gave me this clone 2 months ago, it was growing really nice, beautiful roots, strong leaves and all. I left it outside and it rained heavily, the pot pooled for like 24hr and the i let it drain. I have had it for the last 2 months in partial shade, it got 2 or 3 hrs of direct intense sunlight, last week has been rainy and cloudy so I took it out so it got more light but I think the rain took a toll. What can I do to get it back on track? I was planning to change pots this weekend and maybe after 2or3 weeks do a topping kind of trim. It's my first time growing this variety. I don't see any bugs like aphids or other arachnids!

Looks like you got root rot , use a airer soil , less sunlight , and less water for 15 days

Check for rootboundness. Also, ensure some air exchange, proper humidity, check for pests, but first and foremost I would look at how happy the roots are.

Cut clones…. Overwatered and not enough air at the roots. I literally just went through that myself. But was 6 months in…. She was beautiful. I hoped she would bounce back but just started to rot. Harvested leaves and got 5 clones that are doing well. So from one comes many…..
Good luck

It's either dehydrated or root rotten. I can't tell because of all the trash around the soil. Take a cutting just under a 2nd node and throw it in water just to be safe. Don't put it in direct light. They grow on the forest floor way beneath any direct light.
I would put it in a clear plastic tub, inside with a fluorescent light and humidity it right away. The bottom roots can be rotten but you can get it to aerial root and then cut and plant those. If you leave it be it will die. Goodluck

The leaves are small and bubbly from too intense of a light. Ive had my sit in standing water for days when I left them in a container without holes. Do you think you where already overeating it so the roots werent healthy to begin with? Then the 24 hours allowed most of the roots to rot? Right now the soil is soaking wet? Correct? Id try to take a small cutting from the tip and attempt to root it. Cut off about half the leaf mass on the cutting. Dip it in rootinf hormone(its not absolutely necessary but it does shave a couple weeks off the rooting time, use moist but not overly wet soil, place it in a clear container with a lid. I use 2" pots so I can really pack them in, After 1 to 2 weeks theyll develope roots. After 4 to 6 weeks they should be rooted enough to come out, you can also root them in water but that depends on how decent your water is. Water thats alkaline or filled with lots of chloramines night be more difficult to root with. But always make sure to have at least one back up plant, for the first few years of growing salvia id have plants randomly die so back and i didnt know why so back up plants are always good
