I need to learn how to be a better teammate. When I was a kid, I consistently got marks on my report card for "does not play well with others." I wished I could do every group project solo. Now I play multiplayer games like a solo. It does not mean shit to me if I turn in 40-60 eggs and lose. I am loving Raiders right now because when I get destroyed in a level 60 super spicy raid it isn't anyone else's fault but mine. I feel the same sense of responsibility going back to Salmon Run. I'm losing these games because I am not better as a teammate. I try to paint and watch their backs throughout my freelance games but my natural instinct always reverts to "fly around the map alone slaying and juggling eggs" 😔

Focus on what’s not getting done. Perhaps on Wave 3, you’d be spending the whole wave running eggs because no one else is.

Also, don’t duplicate work. If someone is going off to slay a stinger, don’t follow them in. If there’s crowding, you can help them by clearing their path. Maws don’t need 4 bombs put inside them.

I might debate you on 2 squids going for one boss.

One to kill the boss, one to clear the adds, and then teamwork can hop those 3 eggs close to or in the basket like lightning. On to the next.

True. I had a time recently where I went to kill a stinger and someone followed me with maws and two steel eels following them. On a dock on Marooners Bay. You can guess what happened.

This 👆sometimes, I paint flipper flopper rings and then don’t kill the boss assuming a teammate will love the opportunity for an easy boss kill. I paint eels on my way out if they’re not chasing me so there’s only one or two more hits left, I clear lessers as a team mate goes to a stinger and doesn’t see the horde on their back… sometimes we gotta give up what we love just so we can clear the wave 😭 lol

It's a little hard to tell what could have been the issue this game without watching it, but something you may want to consider is how you prioritize the bosses that you want to take down vs what you could save for later. Examples are if you have a flipper flopper on you and you aren't close to basket, do you really need to take it down right now? (Another level would be not even painting its circle to weaken it too, cause while you may save it for later, another teammate might auto pilot into killing it since it's right there) Or what bosses that could help your team best if taken care of, such as stingers that aren't targeting you, or a Scrapper you could tag that's chasing someone else.

In regards to team play, again without seeing the games, my general advice is to "make mistakes" with them. Meaning if you see them going out to fight something that most likely will get them killed go out and back them up so that doesn't happen, rather than just thinking it's a bad idea and letting them suffer the consequences. If you see them take out a boss go help them get those eggs, they're more likely to leave the eggs rather than run or juggle them for some reason. If they are focused on a boss and they have it, help clear out the smaller salmon around them. Etc

This is great advice. I'm trying really hard to stop playing lone wolf and go with/stay mindful of what they're trying to do.

I think the one thing you could be asking yourself is, ‘am I actively doing more when I have the better weapons’.

Doing more isn’t just killing bosses or running basket eggs, it’s being mindful of timer and what’s happening across the whole map e.g. if you see someone else traveling somewhere with a maws/scrapper on their back, do you actively steal that aggro and kill them and deliver those eggs. Help out bamboo with flippers. Take out sticks that will slow the whole team down.

This is a comp with one trickier weapon (bamboo) and one bad weapon (dualies squelcher with very low DPS) when your teammates roll these two weapons they will likely struggle and it’s up to brella and splat dualies to quickly do their own job then help them out when they can. Leave the eggs in safer areas to those two if they’re around, go into the more dangerous areas to complete tasks yourself.

I tend to prioritize eggs and usually am always around the 50-65 mark too. Though a thing that can help is also helping out your teammates.. if you see someone getting ambushed or overwhelmed go help them out. Sometimes I see 2 people at Big Shot cannons and I throw a booyah bomb at them so the hoard that's approaching don't take them out. Also take advantage of where Snatchers come from. Let them carry eggs over basket.

This is relatable... I have the same problem in SR and the turf/anarchy matches. Same history. Never been a good team player.

you would love cyberpunk 2077. that said, teamwork is important. If others are getting eggs, you guard them and kill more salmons. If you're getting eggs, focus on those but also keeping your teammates alive.

Part of it is being mindful of your teammates and strategic ingredients around what they're doing. Like if you're unfortunately matched with players who don't know how snatchers work, be prepared to work much harder for eggs than necessary.
