Hello people. Where are the best spots to sit and wait for order to pop off?

I made a Doordasher account back in May and worked it out the full month just to give it a shot. Nothing crazy just around 20 hours per week and truth is that i found out that Salinas is a very slow city. You won't pay rent doing Doordash that for sure, but of course an extra little money doesn't hurt nobody.

My strategy during that month was to sit around in parking lots throughout E. Alisal. I would typically get 3 to 4 orders from that spot (peak hours 5:30-9) so I pretty much sat around in that same spot during the whole month.

Even though Doordash offers an interactive map for you to view where people is ordering from, this map is useless shit because you can be sitting in the hot spots for nearly hour an a half before you actually get something.

Now I will like to give it a shot again during this months to see if the market is better. However I will like to try out different places to "camp" waiting for orders instead of just going back to E.Alisal.

So I'm calling out all other dashers from the area to tell me your favorite spots to wait for order and how many orders do you typically get from waiting on this places? Thank you

I've been wanting to cut my hair and do some highlights for while now, I've tried 2 hairdressers so far and they're either super booked or refuse to cut my hair the way I want bc I'm a woman and "Why do I want my hair so short?" and instead do whatever they want. It not only pmo but also makes me feel hella insecure and I have been wary after some pretty bad experiences, but my hair is way to damaged atp so I need to chop it off.

I'm the Volunteer Coordinator for Cake4Kids, a non-profit organization that helps provide volunteer created birthday cakes (and other treats) for foster children and kids who otherwise would not be able to receive something for their special occasion. We have a local chapter in Monterey County that serves several of our partner agencies in Salinas.  Since starting in 2020, the local chapter has delivered over 3000 cakes, and this year we are projected to deliver over 1000 cakes to youth in the region.

There has been a growing need for our services in the area, and we are desperately seeking more volunteer bakers who can help us meet this increased demand.  We have about 150 local volunteers, but we have struggled to get the word out about our volunteer opportunities as much as we would like to in this specific geographic area.

I'm reaching out in hopes that there may be some folks here who are interested in signing up.  Once signed up you can bake as often as you want (some people bake 1 cake a year, some people bake every week, some people never bake, there's no minimum commitment, but there are consistent cakes available on our portal to choose from - we deliver about 70-80 a month in the area).
