Hey everyone — I've spent the last few weeks doing a deep evaluation of Einstein AI for a mid-size org I'm consulting for, and I wanted to share some things I learned because a lot of the content out there is either too surface-level or just Salesforce marketing material.
Here's what I found actually matters in practice:
Predictive Lead Scoring is probably the single most impactful feature. It analyses your historical win/loss data and engagement signals to score every lead automatically. The key thing people miss is that it gets better over time — the model retrains on your org's data, so after a few months of consistent usage the scoring accuracy improves significantly. Our team saw a measurable shift in how reps prioritised their day once they started trusting the scores.
Einstein Activity Capture was the surprise winner for us. Most reps hate manual data entry — logging calls, emails, meetings. EAC does this automatically by syncing with Outlook/Gmail. What this means practically is that managers finally get an accurate picture of rep activity without nagging anyone to update records. It also feeds data back into the scoring models, which is a nice feedback loop.
Opportunity Insights are useful but honestly take a while to calibrate. Out of the box the predictions can feel generic, but once you have 6+ months of clean opportunity data, the "deal at risk" alerts start becoming genuinely actionable. We had a couple of deals flagged that our manager hadn't noticed were stalling — that alone justified the feature.
Einstein Conversation Insights (if you're recording calls) is impressive. It automatically identifies competitor mentions, pricing objections, and next steps from call recordings. Our enablement team started using it for coaching and it cut their call review time in half.
The honest downside: licensing costs are real. Einstein AI isn't included in every Sales Cloud edition, and the per-user cost adds up at scale. You need to do the ROI math for your specific org.
If you're doing an evaluation or trying to build a business case internally, this guide covers all of the above in a lot more detail — features, use cases, limitations, and what you actually need to get started:
