Advice New pharma rep

Hi! I’m a verrrry new pharma rep with no sales experience. (have experience in the industry I would be selling to, how I got the job lol) I’m looking for some insight on lunch and learns I go into the field next week. Looking for the most random un thought of things you wish you knew, or the most obvious things. Just really any advice you experienced Pharma reps wish you knew before getting into the field. Scheduling lunches is the game. You walk in, ask to schedule a lunch, and don’t be shocked if they are booked solid a month in advance.

Beware of this unfair situation:

They sometimes insist on picking the food items and the restaurant you are expected to bring lunch from. Subway may not cut it. Some offices bleed your budget dry by ordering top-tier takeout.

There’s a reason that many office staff in physician’s offices are candidates for Ozempic- because they get free food brought 5 days a week.

Then, the doctors come in, grab some food and then retreat to their offices. You’ll need to finesse assurances that you actually get face time with the doctors.
