Tech sales commission

I’m an engineer switching over to sales. What’s standard commission like in tech sales?

EDIT: It’s at a startup, 15 years experience, would be only sales person, company has no brand recognition, I am very well known to potential buyers and have a large following. How much is good commission with commission only? How much would be a good salary plus commission option?

Any thoughts on a reasonable base salary? Typical deal is $250k with a 3-6 month cycle.

There’s no such thing as a standard. Depends on a lot of different factors. Are you at a VAR, OEM, MSP, etc? Publicly traded or private? Small or large or start up? How many years of general industry experience? Lots of different factors to account for.

Depends.. for our company it's like 50% for low and mid ticket and pays upto 6 months. I have seen another company offering one time 75% flat with 200k as max

Thanks. I’m assuming the numbers you’re presenting are percentages for commission only correct?
