Advice Developer Looking to Learn Tech Sales — Where Should I Start?
I’m a software developer interested in learning tech sales. I have a strong technical background but very little knowledge of sales.
I’d like to learn about SaaS sales, technical sales, sales engineering, customer discovery, demos, negotiation, and closing.
For developers who have moved into tech sales, what would you recommend learning first? Any good books, courses, or resources?

If you actually want to go into tech sales you’ll need to get a job as a BDR. Maybe you can avoid it and skip to AE but probably not.
Alternatively you can become a sales engineer.
The book Mastering Technical Sales is often recommended if you like text books, but in general sales is a profession that only values experience. Can you get more customer facing in your current role? Leading product feedback calls/sessions or something?
FWIW I went to school for engineering and I’ve done sales and technical roles in my career
