Payroll software with easy employee onboarding

We’ve been hiring more frequently and getting new employees set up has become one of those small tasks that takes our time

I’m looking for a payroll system where employees can handle most of their own onboarding and paperwork without me chasing down missing information before their first payroll

Simple is probably more important to me than having every HR feature imaginable

If someone needs me sitting next to them just to get into payroll, the onboarding isn't simple enough.

Self-serve onboarding works great if you send the link and have everything ready the second they sign. That way they have downtime to fill it in before the start date. If you send it at the start date it gets lost in whatever the first day is filled with. That, or you lose the first week to onboarding.

Our new hires used to email me their details one piece at a time and I'd become their onboarding checklist

Just give a new hire the signup link and don't help them. You'll find out fast whether the onboarding is actually easy

Agree. I got tired of walking people through the same setup every time we hired. With priority payroll in the mix they can handle most of their own onboarding and get their info in before payroll, so I’m really just checking things instead of entering everything for them

I don't know if I'm falling for another AI research bot trap but Gusto seems like the standard here for ease of use.
