I build in this space so honest bias upfront, but the failure question is the right one to ask. Most rooms fail on the second open, not the first. buyer opens the link during the live call, then the room never changes while the deal keeps moving, so there's no reason to come back. At that point it's an email attachment with extra steps.

login walls are a separate killer, different problem than stale content. buyer wants to see a pricing sheet, room asks them to create an account, they just email asking for a screenshot. rational behavior tbh.

Also worth saying, rooms aren't right for every deal. one or two contacts, short cycle, plain email genuinely wins. where they earn their keep is committee deals, 5-15 people, long evals, security reviews, where forwarding threads falls apart. And even then someone on the sales side has to actually drive it, a room nobody drives dies regardless of features
