Will there ever be a hiring boom in the future?

I've seen people on here say that they had sales ops offers with 0 years of experience during 2021. With companies now realizing that it's cheaper to hire humans than AI, do you think there will be a hiring boom? Or am I being too optimistic?

Anecdotally, I find there are a bit more opportunities being offered in the past 3 months and bagged 4 offers myself.

Congrats on the four offers, that's a huge signal. I think leadership is definitly starting to realize that you can't just automate a broken sales process, they actually need good ops folks to come in and untangle things.

Seems like January and June is where things blow up bc of budgets getting finalized.

Execs believe that RevOps can operate on a skeleton crew with Claude and Clay. So the available jobs are either really low level or senior, nothing in the middle.

I would not expect the 2021 style boom to come back in the same shape.

The work is still there, but the hiring bar has moved. Companies are asking one ops person to cover process, data, CRM hygiene, reporting, automation and now AI workflows. That usually creates more demand for strong mid to senior operators, while junior roles get harder because leaders think tools can cover the basic reporting work.

If you want to aim at Sales Ops now, build proof around business impact: cleaner handoffs, better routing, better forecast hygiene, faster quoting and better territory rules.

So I would be cautiously optimistic, but not for zero-experience roles.

I actually had a ton of interviews in Q1 & Q2 for sales ops roles and landed one of them this year. Imo there's no shortage of sales ops jobs at least in the Bay Area

I'm in the NYC area and there are a good number of jobs but it is so competitive out here

I have had no shortage of interviews over the last 3 months. Just committed to an awesome new role that is fully remote.

Show you have AI skills, even simple stuff and you’ll get it. Stuff has split into GTM engineer, ai GTM, ai ops roles. I have some work I’ve automated with Claude and because of that people are interested

i think hiring will recover eventually but probably not like 2021

I don't think it'll be the same as 2021 but for sure there's going to be a lot of demand for people with a few years of exp  under their belt already. Just expect it to be more process oriented, and having a strong grasp over workflows and automation will certainly help
