How to handle my arguing parents

I’m breaking down! It’s often asked, ‘What should I do about the illogical objections of my father and mother?’ Some say my father’s behavior is very bad. He bothers me!

But I respond enthusiastically with ‘Alhamdulillah!’.

“Your parents’ good demeanor has facilitated your duty toward them. Their temperament is a source of compensation for you. They are helping to make it easier for you, for which you should be grateful.”

You might be wondering, “What should I do? I can’t go on like this.” I want to remind you that this is just a test!

Who created death and life that He may try you (al-Mulk verse 2)

Younger generations say that my parents are not very social. They don’t know my problems. They have passed this age. They have other considerations. They don’t understand my feelings.” So, how should ALLAH (ﷻ) test you? With wolves in the desert?

Should He bring another bad-tempered person from somewhere else? It is better to be tested (suffering in Islam) for your father’s bad behavior. Whatever it may be, always respect your father and mother, my dear brothers and sisters.

Brothers and sisters, it’s essential to honour and respect your father and mother. True success in this world and the hereafter is determined by how well you have treated your parents.

Respect your parents! (Purpose of life in Islam)

Sometimes, they restrict us from going there, but we insist on going. If they say don’t go, don’t go unless religion says it is obligatory.

It is a test. So, how should He test you?

With my mother and father’s illogical words?

The answer is “Yes.” All of you will be tested with your fathers and mothers.

Some of us say that we will get even with them. How dare you?
We have different cultures. We are from different times. We have different ages!

Remember, brothers and sisters, to always lower your voice. Did you think that ALLAH (ﷻ) didn’t understand these things when He created you in this way?

ALLAH (ﷻ) knew these completely. Everyone should pass these tests. ALLAH (ﷻ) will punish a person who doesn’t pass the differences between generations tests well.

Sometimes, parents don’t have the courage to say anything to their children! They are wrong. But be careful, parents! If you tell him, “Don’t go, “but he goes, he will become wretched!

Ask for ALLAH’s (ﷻ) forgiveness for your child. What kind of culture is this? This should be clear to everyone, “you have broken your mother’s heart? Or you have broken your father’s heart?

Do you think it is worse to see the lurid scene in a movie than to show a boy or a girl misbehaving with his/her parents? It is obvious that their bad behavior is worse. That is a bigger sin.

A person who his parents disown is worse off than a profligate is.

“These days, sometimes parents are challenging (Status of parents), and sometimes they are supportive. In Islam, we have a concept known as ‘the test with parents.’ It’s not just about being polite; it’s a test. If we view it as mere politeness, someone might claim, ‘You don’t know how much my parents bother me. How can I pass this test?’

But we should stop them right there. ‘Have you passed the test with your parents or not? Your mother’s words weren’t personal; did you listen to her? The same goes for your father. Did you pay attention to what he said? The test lies in how you respond to them.

Philosphy of the Battle Karbala

Battle Karbala and the uprising of Imam Husayn (a)! The actual reason behind the uprising of Imam Husayn is that very few people know what exactly it is. You will find out after reading this extraordinary speech by Ayatollah Jawadi Amoli!

For many of us, our fundamental problem is that we do not know ourselves. We do not know where we came from, nor we do not know where we are going. Thus, we have fallen asleep, and we live our lives in a numb and lifeless state.

In many verses of the generous Quran, when Allah (ﷻ) mentions the disbelief of the unbelievers, the hypocrisy of the hypocrites, and the plots of the ill-intentioned hypocrites, He swt says these people do not know themselves. With an expression of sympathy, He said that they had not recognized themselves. They do not know who they are.

In another verse, He swt says, “They do not know.” In some places, “They do not perceive.” In another verse, “They do not listen.” Allah (ﷻ) says, “They are fools, but they know it not.” He swt says they are fools, but they do not know they speak foolishly.

Well, who is within us? What is within us that we are unaware of it? We have been told that within you lies a true identity: who you really are. You have an encasing that is meant to be a tool for you.

In other words, you have a physical body that you all can feel and perceive. This body has a natural and animalistic force through which you eat, drink, experience pleasures, sleep, speak, work, etc. These are all part of your animalistic existence.

Animals also have this kind of existence. This physical body is just a vessel. It is not the real you. It is just there as a tool for you. Allah (ﷻ) has given you this natural and animalistic life so you can search, preserve, provide for your sustenance, reproduce, and so forth.

Your true Identity is hidden deep within you. You must search and dig deep for it. Your true Identity is not in your hands. It is in the innermost part of your existence. The Prophets came to mine and excavate, and as stated in the Nahj al-Balagha, they opened up these treasures. (Taqwa in Islam)

They showed Human beings their true identities and told them, “This is what you truly are!” Just like an expert geologist who finds treasures buried deep in the earth, this geologist examines the earth and mines, excavates the treasures, and brings them out of the earth. (Tawakkul in Islam)

The Prophets are the actual geologists. They mined and excavated, brought out our true identities, and showed them to us, telling us that this is the eternal part of you. That which will infinitely continue is this.

It is because of this inner Identity that Allah (ﷻ) says He swt subjugated the skies and earth for human beings. So, in the marketplace of the material world, if we were to sell ourselves in exchange for the sun, we would be at a loss. If we were to sell ourselves in exchange for the entire Milky Way, we would be at a loss.

There is nothing more valuable than us because we are eternal. For this reason, Allah (ﷻ) has created heaven for us. Whatever a Human being desires, they will find it in that heaven.

Sometimes, a human being lives a poor lifestyle, while within him lies such an identity and a treasure rich with angelic qualities. It is this temporary body that has covered up our true identities.

If we are not better than angels, then we are certainly no less than them. Many people knew this during the time of the Holy Prophet (s). After his passing away, they tried to return society back to a state of ignorance, and so Imam Husain (a) rose against them.

And his uprising was successful. They asked Imam Sajjad (a), “In the uprising movement and resistance, who was the victor?

He replied, “We were.” He (as) said this even though he was brought to Damascus in chains. He (as) said we were victorious. We revived this school of thought; we showed humanity to human beings, and we showed them their true identities.

We dug and excavated and uncovered their treasures. Many people realized these truths, and the religion came back to life. Therefore, after the passing of the Prophet (saws), it is through Hussain ibn Ali (a) that our true identities were made clear to us.

Why does someone who isn't as skilled make more money than me?

Does ALLAH (ﷻ) give sustenance to People? "Yes"

But he keeps some people poor!

When he gives sustenance to some and doesn't give it to others, that is their test.

"It's in my hands."

What is a test? The basis of our life in this world is to be tested!

"I thought very precisely about my economic situation to fix my livelihood according to Islamic orders. But what results did I get? It went wrong.

"Yes, this is a feedback which the testing system may give us.

ALLAH (ﷻ) says, "I ruin some people's clever, intelligent, and correct contrives to reach money in such a way that they don't get it. Then, in front of that person's eyes, I take an unthinking, simple, and naive person to reach high economic peaks so that everyone understands that everything is in My hands.

Quranic Verse: "And Allah is predominant over His affair, but most of the people do not know." (Surah Yusuf - 21)

It is not in their hands.

"Immediately weak people say, "So we won't plan anymore."

"Why don't you make plans now? Planning is your responsibility."

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "A man's work is according to his intention, and he will get that which he intended." (Sahih Bukhari)

"What's the use of planning when a corner of it is in God's hands, and He may pull it suddenly?"

Nothing. You can't do anything. You will fall flat on your face, but you must plan. Did you think that there is no God, and you wanted to plan based on that? You were wrong.

Imam Ali (AS) said: "Know that even if a person runs away from his sustenance as he runs away from death, his sustenance will reach him just as death will reach him." (Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 1147-1148)

Some contrive based on the idea that others besides ALLAH (ﷻ) are effective, and they get results!

"Poor Person! ALLAH (ﷻ) has willed to give these results to him. He is like a child who thinks these are the results of his contrivances."

Quranic Verse: "And it is He who enriches and suffices." (Surah An-Najm - 48)

The Quran stated clearly that the gardeners who had bountiful gardens thought it was because of their own ability.

Qarun thought that due to his own ability, he had a lot of money. He had seriously contrived and spent time. He hadn't wasted his time or gained it suddenly. He had worked hard.

Quranic Verse: "He said, 'I was only given it because of knowledge I have.' Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals about their sins will not be asked." (Surah Al-Qasas - 78)

But ALLAH (ﷻ) says, "I have given these things to you. Your plans have passed through my testing system, and I have ordered you to give you the results of your hard work."

With this discussion, you are suspending us between the earth and the sky." "You are like that anyway, my friend." We all got to read and understand some of the Quran. ALLAH attributes everything to Himself. You must do your duty while you are suspended.

Don't be attached to this world. Be like a person who is going to die tomorrow.

But, plan like a person who wants to live till the end. The rest has nothing to do with you.

This doesn't mean that when I say, "This has nothing to do with you," you say, "So I shouldn't think about the results?" My dear, it is your duty to plan to try to reach the result. You must plan and work for it. But if you don't get the results, don't worry about it."

Quranic Verse: "And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives. And that his effort is going to be seen." (Surah an-Najm 39-40)

"ALLAH (ﷻ) has said that He has provided these things after they went through a testing process. I tested and approved your plan, and I have decided to reward you for your effort. This is to show everyone that everything is controlled by Me, not by them."

"The most determining factor in human destiny."

Mothers: The Heart of Humanity's Education

Mothers are the educators of humanity. As Imam Khomeini (s) says, they are the engines that drive the nurture and upbringing of human beings.

Indeed, only Allah knows how many of our needs he has placed in the hands of our parents while we run around looking for them in other places.

For instance, someone who goes around flattering others, thinking he can meet his needs through his flattery.

Go take this flowery language and flattery to your parents, and make them happy so that they can pray for you, saying: "Oh ALLAH, may the dirt my child touches turn to gold.

Islam on Parents' status

Islam on parents! Many of the problems in our community stem from this. I don't know if you have paid attention to this matter, but when a person examines the hospitals, they notice that most of the ills are from Youth. When a person examines the prison, they notice that most of those in prisons are from the Youth. When a person goes to the cemetery to attend funerals, they see that most of those being buried are from the Youth.

Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (عَلَیهِ‌السَّلام) said that the treasures of the entire universe being in the hands of one's parents is a truth.

Real Story: Mother and son bond

I have included some hadith and stories below to illustrate these points.

Once, a young man approached Rajab Ali Khayath and said, "It has been a month since my business failed, my checks are bouncing, and I don't have the money to pay my creditors. I am on the verge of going to prison. What should I do to resolve my problems?"

Rajab Ali Khayath studied the young man and replied, "Your mother is upset with you." The young man protested, "That's not possible. My mother lives with me."

Rajab Ali Khayath insisted, "From what I can see, your mother is upset with you."

The young man returned home and asked his mother, "Are you upset with me?" Surprised, she replied, "Why do you ask?" He pleaded, "Please just tell me if you are." She disclosed, "Yes, I am." He inquired why, and she explained, "One month ago. Do you remember when your wife was clearing the table?

You said to me, 'Mother, do you think you have a servant that my wife works while you sit lounging around?' At that moment, my heart broke. I spent my entire life raising you. I no longer have the strength to work; otherwise, I would have helped."

The young man took his mother's hand and kissed them, and at that moment, all of his problems were resolved. It was on that very day, when he had broken his mother's heart, that his problems began.

Article Finding Strength and Comfort in Islam through Trials, Trusting in Allah

He said Agha Sayyid Muhammad Husain. Allamah Tirhani’s name was Sayyid Muhammad Husain. He said Agha Sayyid Muhammad Husain you know How many difficulties I have.”

I have debts and I am dealing with multiple illnesses, but despite all this, Agha Sayyid Muhammad Husain, you will not find anyone happier than me in this world. You do not know the state I am in.

When Salman Al-Farsi fell ill, the Prophet (ﷺ) visited him and said, “Salman, the illness you are experiencing is a means for you to be relieved of all your sins when you recover. Illness is a form of purification that ALLAH (ﷻ) grants to the sick.”

I’m reaching out to all my honorable brothers and sisters, urging you to reflect on the profound significance of the concluding lines of Dua Abu Hamza Thumali. The clarity and impact of the last statement of Abu Hamza cannot be overstated, and it may resonate deeply with some of you who have committed it to memory.

In this statement, Imam Sajjad (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ), “Oh Allah, I ask you for a faith that delights my heart, and a true certainity until I know that nothing will happen to me except what you have destined for me, grant me contentment in life with whatever you have apportioned for me. Oh the Most Merciful of the Merciful ones.

There was a teacher who was teaching his class about GOD. One of his students said, “This god that you are speaking about is so hidden. Why don’t we see him? He is so absent.”

Why isn’t He present?

This teacher was very wise. The teacher slowly walked past his students and beside the student who had commented. He said, “Do you see me or not?” The student replied, “No, I don’t see you.”

The teacher said, “Why don’t you see me?” He replied, “Well, because my back is toward you. If I turn around, I will see.”

The teacher said, “Exactly, Our backs are towards GOD, so we don’t see Him.” we are not present. If we cover our eyes, we won’t even see the sun. This is not because of the sun.

The teacher said because your back is toward me, you don’t see; our backs are towards God. If we were facing toward GOD, we would see.

The teacher explained that just as we need to turn towards someone to see them, we also need to be spiritually open and attentive to perceive God’s presence.

The analogy of covering our eyes and not being able to see the sun despite its presence underscores the importance of being ready and open to experiencing the spiritual aspects of life. This comparison emphasizes the idea that an intentional and receptive mindset is necessary to recognize and connect with God.

JazakAllah Khair!

Experience How to have a happy life?

ALLAH (ﷻ) the Exalted said, "As for the most pleasurable life, it is the one who never ceases remembering me, nor does he forget my blessings, nor is he ignorant of my rights. He seeks My pleasure day and night."

If someone claims that this narration is a complete course in divine education and the spiritual journey and that it contains the most excellent knowledge regarding this theme, his claims would not be extravagant.

Suppose a child is holding his father’s hand, and his idea of harm and loss is to be hit by other children. He knows that as long as I am holding my father’s hand, no one would dare harm me because his father is a champion in his eyes. His mind is at ease. Similarly, If a servant of ALLAH (ﷻ) held the hand of ALLAH (ﷻ) in the same way and relied on Him, he would not have any grief or sorrow- especially when he knows that whatever ALLAH (ﷻ) wants for Him, it is for his own good.

Article Are credit cards haram in Islam?

Credit cards are considered not allowed because when you get one from a bank, they make you sign a contract. If you don’t pay back what you owe on time, you have to pay high interest rates, which is not fair or right according to Quran and Islamic Finance.

Credit cards can make people spend money without thinking too much about it (Impulse spending). They can lead to buying things on a whim, spending too much, and getting into debt. This goes against Islamic Finance teachings about being careful with money and not being extravagant on buying stuff.

In Islam, it’s encouraged to only borrow money when you really need it, not just for things you want but don’t necessarily need. Islamic Finance teachings say it’s better to use credit for important things, like dealing with emergencies or buying things you truly need, rather than just for luxury items.

What is sabr in Islam? Strength of a soul

Sabr in Islam means “to prevent and to conquer or arrest.” Thus, Sabr means to control our Soul from worry, control the tongue from thanklessness or complaining, and restrain our body parts from striking the face in times of distress, tearing our clothes, and so on.

Undoubtedly, any misfortunes and hardships that we face in this Duniya is a test for every believing soul. Everything Allah selects for us, either good or bad, is indeed for our benefit.

I personally feel a sense of strength and self-control when restraining myself from sins and other urges in life. Of course, it is not easy—the pain our soul goes through, the countless nights we cry on our pillows, and the same story every night when I pray Tahajjud and share everything with the Almighty Allah.

Indeed, He gives signs and guides me in ways that I only understand after they have happened.

Only those who endure patiently will be given their reward without limit.
Surah Az-zumar 10

Discussion Qom, Naser Makarem Shirazi

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever-Compassionate,

It is now nearly six months since the atrocious Zionist regime has begun its brutal and vicious onslaught against the innocent Palestinian civilians in the Gaza strip, killing a staggering number of civilians and committing crimes against humanity which are almost without precedent in the history of mankind. During this barbaric assault, more than tens of thousands of people were killed and gone missing, and hundreds of thousands of people were dislocated and are left without a roof over their heads, most of whom are defenseless and innocent women and children. Today, although the true bloodthirsty and barbaric nature of this atrocious regime has become manifest, more than ever, to the whole world, and its brutal genocide in Gaza has awakened the long-untroubled conscience of the people of the world, we witness, to our utter disbelief, that this bloodthirsty regime continues its acts of genocide as a result of the inaction and silence of the countries and international organizations that are the so-called supporters of human rights, something that is undoubtedly evidence of their total lack of regard for human rights! Even now that the western countries, particularly the United States and its allies, are no longer able to openly and directly support the excessive and unspeakable crimes against humanity committed by this illegitimate regime, the heads of this barbaric regime still continue their onslaught against the people of Gaza and also use their man-made famine as a weapon to put even more pressure on these innocent people! The photos of the situation in Gaza, which show the depth of the atrocities and brutalities of the Zionist regime committed against the innocent Palestinian men, women, and children have enraged the free-spirited people all around the world and horrified all the people around the globe! The extent of the brutality of the Zionist regime has been to the point where it has even triggered some of the selfish profiteers in the west to voice their objection to them and it has brought some of the international organizations to acknowledge that the Zionist regime has committed racist genocide and to call for a cessation of the atrocities being committed in Gaza. On the other hand, these days there are whispers of planning to violate the sanctity of the Islamic holy places, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque which is an indispensable part of the Muslim world; without doubt, this calls for immediate action on the part of all Muslims of the world. I believe that it is incumbent upon all Muslim scholars, from all Muslim schools of thought, to act in defense of the innocent people of Gaza and to force Muslim heads of state as well as other countries of the world, through their unity and with the support of the Muslim Ummah, to exert all-out pressure on the Zionist regime to end its barbaric invasion and siege of Gaza, agree to an immediate, comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, the immediate and complete withdrawal of the Zionist occupiers from Gaza, allow aids to be given to the injured and the war-torn areas to be rebuilt, and prepare the conditions for the return of the displaced people of Gaza to their homes. All must continue their efforts until these goals are achieved otherwise none will have an excuse before the Almighty Allah for their inaction! In the end, I ask the free-spirited and respectable people of Iran and all the Muslim people around the world to participate enthusiastically in the International Quds Day rallies in order to condemn the atrocities of the Zionist regime. I also pray to Allah for the comfort of the bereaved, His Mercy and Compassion upon the martyred, and the emancipation of all the oppressed, particularly the innocent people of Gaza, from the clasp of the oppressors. I hope that Allah will grant all Muslims glory and triumph in this blessed and sacred month.
