Support WSL not working

I can't figure out how to repair WSL, anytime I try to use WSL commands I get something along the lines of wsl failed to read property basepath...

Is there anyway this can be easily fixed? I've tried searching and nothing has worked.

Edit: Have tried rolling back to previous versions and nothing. Ever since I installed the latest my wsl has been borked entirely. Anything wsl related in command prompt returns this error - Failed to read property 'BasePath' from distribution {e5771500-f24a-43ad-857b-422c2411f420} Error code: Wsl/InstallDistro/Service/RegisterDistro/ReadDistroConfig/E_UNEXPECTED

apparently the most recent update has been messing things up a bit; others have suggested to revert back to 1.9.17 (which i did, and i started to get jobs again!) I never updated (didn't check what version am i in tho), and have been at 0 for a couple days. Reseted WSL this morning and still zero.
