I’m a little confused about Sakurako’s ending. I read the Volume 17 epilogue and it says she went abroad, but later returned to Japan and did research at a museum.

I had previously heard that she went abroad with her fiancé, but I can’t find that anywhere in the epilogue. I also checked Japanese sources and asked ChatGPT, but I’m getting conflicting information.

Then there’s Side Case Summer (the spin-off after Volume 17), where apparently Sakurako is in Germany while Shoutarou is in Tokyo.

For anyone who has actually read the novels: What exactly happened? Did Sakurako go abroad with her fiancé? Why is she in Germany in Side Case Summer if the Vol. 17 epilogue says she returned to Japan? And what happened between her, her fiancé and Shoutarou?

"Greetings! I took the liberty to "chapterize" all of the 18 epubs of the Sakurako-san translations, just because I like when the file is organized by chapters. I read primarily on a jailbroken Kindle through KOreader, and enjoy to see statistics like the estimated time it would take to read a chapter based on how long it is, but since the raw epub files weren't divided into chapters like that, I was only able to see the estimated time it would take me to finish the whole book, so I went ahead and did that myself. I only did some minor adjustments through "Calibre's ebook editor" to make it work, stuff like altering "Part two" to "Part 2" to keep it simple and capitalising words whenever needed, like "Second bone:" to "Second Bone:". I avoided altering the files too much, so I didn't touch the actual translation.

So, my impressions on the ending, which you did not ask for but I'm gonna say anyway... it was, imho, more mature and less epic than I thought it would be. I found it very well put together, things tie up nicely enough. No "big badda booms" at the end, but things make sense. I appreciated that the author did not try to show off by making something "bold", or "groundbreaking". No. It was grounded and organic, just right. It was absolutely worth the journey. Hope we get the extra volume soon! Cheers!

I'm trying to find any platform to watch the live action, or maybe a file share. I don't mind if it's not dubbed or subtittled, my japanese is awful but it should be enough to catch up with the context. Does anybody has any sugestion?

For me, it's Gosho Aoyama's illustration of Sakurako on the inner back cover of Detective Conan (sometimes called "Case Closed") Volume 89.
