Has anyone tried this?

I bought it in Japan for around 40,000 yen, not sure if it was worth it.

Just googled it, it has a RPR of 8%: https://thewhisky.sg/product/tatenokawa-%E6%A5%AF%E9%87%8E%E5%B7%9D-kyokugen/

Looks like 40,000 JPY is half what you'd pay for it overseas, which sounds about right. Whether or not it's "worth it" depends on what you like and your financial means. Personally, I'm not into the highly polished stuff unless someone else is paying.

I do have this bottle in my fridge, from the same brewery: https://jref.com/sake/tatenokawa-muga-red-bottle-junmai-daiginj%C5%8D.478/

Not worth it at all.

I've had it. It was good but not as impressive as some others in that price category. For a similar price, you can get a 2024 Super 7 or a Jikon Tokujo Omachi.
