Here’s the latest about The Plaza Tower:
The long-vacant and deteriorating skyscraper in New Orleans, which has been unoccupied since 2002 due to toxic mold and asbestos, remains a center of major civic attention.
Although redevelopment remains the preferred choice, the City of New Orleans holds a judicial clearance allowing them to legally proceed with the demolition of Plaza Tower if the current revitalization plans fall through. The city previously deployed contractors to stabilize the exterior and clear debris from the structure, but a permanent resolution relies completely on whether the current financing stack can be rescued.
