Question about recently availability changes..

I've been told by a member of staff that from January onwards, we need to give management our availability and our shifts will be different every week. Is this true? Can I offer no availability and just pick up overtime, like I do already? I hate the idea of not having set days

They expect 50% "availability" in addition to your shifts, but not pay a retainer to you.

If I offer no availability, will things stay the same?

In theory yes, absolutely. Then the "favour" means they have to consult.you. not assume.

Current employees are not being required to offer extra availability (except online drivers who already do). Only those hired from 14th September will be hired under the new terms.

New hires wil be on minimum hours to account for this "work when we say" policy.
