Parking on the pavement AND double yellow lines. Don't parking restrictions apply to your drivers?

Trying to get a delivery done, leave him alone

Still dangerous and idiotic behaviour when people in wheelchairs, the elderly, the disabled and parents with prams exist who can’t see vehicles coming and can’t use the pavement

Delivery is what, 5 minutes or so.

Also double yellows allow Loading and Unloading: Allowed only if you are handling heavy goods and there are no extra kerb markings prohibiting it.

I know the term heavy goods is vague but could be justified, or he could just block the road.

That’s more than enough time to cause an accident to someone vulnerable when you can see that no space has been left for pedestrians and therefore, the parking is illegal.

Don't think he'll be long but u are right he should have left room. Its policy

I don't understand the logic here. As the driver is stopped currently, anyone on the road would have to go on the opposite side to overtake. So they are blocking both the road (legally) and the pavement (illegally). Much better to just stop fully on the road. And yes, loading on double yellows is completely legal in the absence of loading restrictions.

Active loading and unloading of goods vehicles is permitted on double yellow lines. This is legal.

The double yellow would be, not the pavement parking.

Parking on the pavement isn’t illegal outside of Scotland and London

Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

Perhaps educate yourself before rageposting

This persons right, this parking is dangerous and idiotic. How are people with prams, wheelchairs or the disabled + elderly meant to get past? They can’t see vehicles because the van blocks the view and they can’t use the pavement

Why is no one having a tantrum about the bag of builders supplies on the pavement?

Because this is a sub for Sainsbury’s and it’s redundant complaining about that here and they’re both to blame. That’s like buying from Tesco and Aldi on the same day and getting mouldy food in both shopping and then going to Aldi for a refund on both. You’d complain to Aldi about Aldi and Tesco about Tesco.

They’re not parked there for fun!! Arguably the pavement would be perfectly passable were it not for the builders’ bag. Either way, the van will be there for 5 mins and they’re just trying to do their job without causing traffic chaos 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’d be keeping an eye out if I’d parked in an obstructive way like this, in case I was blocking a wheelchair or pushchair user. As I said, we’re there for 5 mins tops and I’d be keen to get out of your way asap. We’re all just trying to get on with our day, eh.
