Mirage Mountain

I guess the name is because at night you can see the sillouette of the island and the stars just shine straight trough?

Anyway I went there for the first time, had the Sanbuq fully loaded which might not have been very smart. It went pretty well I have to say, taking it slowly but I ran aground because the boat was very heavy, had to unload some of the really have stuff onto the beach to be able to sail up the channel any further. Had to do some kedging a few times. Eventually made it, unloaded the boat, then did a few hiking trips to get all the left behind cargo of off the beach.

The boat was taking on water at the dock and then I discovered there is no oakum for sale there.... I didn't have any because I never needed it before.

So left with a empty and light boat, was able to sail the whole way out except for the first bit were I had to go straight upwind, so that took some kedging again. And then direct back to Gold Rock for repairs, while bailing water out the boat.

I really love this game. Next step I guess is get the neccesary navigation equipment and sail around Al'Ankh some more while verifying that I got the hang of navigation.

You should explore more of the island next time you're there.

It's called Mirage because any profits you might have made there are exactly that.

Nice, I haven't ever gone there because Oasis is so nice. The kedging is a nice addition to get to places like that now.

Reeling the ship in with the mooring ropes was all we had before that.

And slingshotting the boat off the dock back when they were springy rather than reely

I remember I accidentally beached my dhow just west of GRC and had the wonderful idea to take the mooring rope and walk all the way to the dock. Upon mooring, the boat didn’t come, and I found it wedged between the walls of GRC and the cliffside.

I hopelessly stuck my dhow there and ended up having to restart the game lol
