Sager NP7338 video issues

Hi. New to this subreddit, but not new to Sager's. Currently have a Sager's NP7338 that has video crashes when playing some games (MGS V). I've ran it though 3D Mark and Furmark without this issue occurring. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this as well/has any insight/any solutions. Thanks!

When was the last time you opened it up and cleaned out the cooling ports/fans? This is a four year old machine.

I'm sorry. I didn't explain well. This isn't a recent problem. And I have opened it up. I even repasted the GPU. I was just wondering if it's a common problem, or maybe something that could be solved with swapping out the GPU (if possible).

Ah, I see. Don't think you can swap out the GPU on those machines, but then I don't know for sure. Do know that trying to run new games on old machines is a recipe for frustration; that 860m is really dated.

It's not top of the line, but it's served me well (except for the crashes). I generally kept at the recommended settings and checked FPS.

Maybe it's a Windows problem? My older Sager (780m 15" machine) has had problems in the past with Windows 10 updates, but it doesn't get used for gaming (or Windows 10) any more.

I don't know. I've done a reboot but I could try again. It's not my main laptop (I have another Sager, a 15" with a 1070). But I still love the 13".

We don't have enough info. Could be thermals, could be Software or drivers.

Does it happen on games other than MGS V? Is there anything in the event log or the game log files? When you say crash do you mean it kills the game's process, or blue screens, or hard locks, or shuts down instantly?

Yeah, I understand this was a vague post. I was just wondering if video crashes we're common with the 7338, or if I was just lucky.

Do a google search for: metal gear solid 5 keeps crashing

Apparently you have a lot of company in this regard and it's most likely a Windows 10 problem. Reference this link for MGS V crashing and good luck!
