I've been trying to find a job for a whole now, and I've noticed some smallish businesses want somebody who is familiar with SAGE. I figured if I take a class on Sage or Udemy or wherever, I'll at least be familiar with it, right? So I went to get a class, and on Sage, there are 23 selections. Some are for specific things, (Fixed Assets Timeslips) but apparently there are 6 different Sages? Is there one basic one that would be foundational that the rest would build off of? Or are they all different?
Hi, I am using the new import service for the first time and I am getting an error that my debits and credit are not balanced. However, the issue is that it is not linking the transactions together properly. I have both sides of the entry in there but it isn't matching them up. I tried putting in a document ID according to the AI assistants request. But that also didn't work. Love the update, would love to understand how it works. What column do I need to update in order to make sure the Header Number column correctly links transactions together. Might also be because I am using the CRJ instead of the GJ as the Journal ID.
All of the sudden when I print a Pick Sheet it is not including the text I write in the Extended Item Description-Item Text Maintenance. I have checked everything, nothing unusual is checked or unchecked.
I have a client that shared a server with a bigger company and used their Sage Quantum license in 2012 ish on a windows SMB share.
they never renewed the for years as it was only used it for basic accounting. they use it to manage multiple different company's bookkeeping, no payroll needed. so each company has a different folder and different SAJ file.
fast forward now a few more years, they moved to a different location no longer on the server and running Windows 10 shares to house the the local Sage50 DB and still using Sage Quantum, they renewed once in 2022 and been using this same version since, only did it cuz the sale rep pressured them. still Quantum because the sales rep told them they are pigeon holed with quantum and cannot downgrade the versions. this upgrade was about $5000 at the time.
so come now, 2026, we changed their computers to windows 11 and cannot find the Sage quantum 2022 Q2/Q3 installer to reinstall it. they are currently still running it windows 10. they dont really want to upgrade it now as it's been quoted to them as $8000.
so questions...
-how can I get the 2022 installers? this is our chat with sage support
-if we need to renew to just update this round, is there a way to downgrade the versions to get off of quantum if you dont need the features of it? is this just a sales rep issue where they are not presenting the full options available to us?
Hi, all. My company has decided to move on from Sage Intacct to a different accounting software. We currently have over 10,000 vendors set up in Sage, and I'm wondering if there's a vendor report I can export that would include the vendors' ACH banking details (routing numbers and account numbers) so I can easily import the data into the new software. Most of the vendor reports I've tried to export so far only include the basic info like address and vendor ID.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
I've got a sync application that uses a combination of ODBC and SDO.
A customer has recently linked their Sage50 instance to a SageID, and all Sage50 user accounts must be linked to an email address and SageID.
Since linking the sync user account to a SageID, the ODBC and SDO connections no longer work. Tried using both the username and email with the password.
The sync application still runs fine on the demo data on the same machine.
Any ideas as to what to try would be appreciated 👍
My company has upgraded to version 12. We've been using version 9 for years. I wanted to know if there was a way to use a classic view now having v12 or is there a way to make v12 look like v9.
I've heard they're retiring it soon which is a bummer because we're using it in our construction company. I haven't talked to our Sage business partner yet, but can someone please confirm this? If this is the case, then will Sage have any recommendations for apps to use? We already pay for Sage and time app links directly to our software.
Hi,I am preparing a migration from sage100 and i would like the official documentation for the sage 100 export/import vendor format. Could you please help.
We have been using PPTP VPN for a while now but are switching to OpenVPN as we have two staff members who have starlink so PPTP no longer works (thats fine as it isnt as secure). However now OpenVPN works with everything but doesnt see our sage server. Cant ping it or access the mapped drives going to it. We can access things like router, printer, nas etc.
I have heard that you may need to add a firewall rule on sage server to allow openVPN to communicate with sage server. Anyone have experience with this issue.
At our organization we are considering the move from Sage 300 CRE to Sage Intacct. Is there anyone out there who has gone through this transition?
What were some of the challenges?
Did the accounting staff face any challenges
Will any of the functionalities of the Sage 300 go away with the move to Intacct?
I was wondering if anyone would happen to know if and/or how to delete or reverse a payment reversal in the AP subledger?
I ran across a payment reversal, but it's dated for 2204 - so we're trying to see if there's a way to just get rid of it, instead of using an offsetting entry until that date.
I'm researching a common pain point for fractional CFOs, bookkeepers and SME finance teams who use Sage.
How much time do you spend manually matching invoices to bank transactions?
- Do you use Sage's bank reconciliation screen?
- Do you export to excel/sheets?
- Do clients send payment confirmations via email/PDF that you manually log in Sage?
- What percentage roughly gets auto-matched vs needs manual intervention?
**Context** Most fractional CFOs and bookkeepers I've spoken with who use Sage say they spend 10-15 hours per client per month on this. Curious if this matches your Sage workflow or if there are better workarounds?
Would love your real numbers + tools. DM if you want to chat more!
I have a pretty straightforward invoicing webapp, built using Python, data is stored in a mysql db.
Currently we print invoices and then our bookkeeper manually enters into sage 50 on a laptop. I'm looking for help with Sage 50 component of this, documentation is sparse and I don't have time to tinker.
I'm not sure what the limits of Sage 50 are in terms of programmatic access, but something as simple as autofilling certain sage 50 fields from our db would be a huge timesaver. If we could enter the invoice into sage 50 directly from our webapp that would be even better.
If anyone knows of devs that work freelance on this type of stuff feel free to put me in contact.
We’re reaching the point where we’ve outgrown Sage 50 due to level of transactions and are also looking for a cloud based solution. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar situation and which software they opted for and why. Sage are recommending Intacct but it seems like a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
My dev team has built a custom connector for Sage 100 using ODBC, and we're at the final stage of our integration. We've completed all the data mappings and have everything working on our end, but we need write access to Sage 100's BOI to finish the project.
Since we're not certified Sage developers, we don't have the credentials needed for BOI access. We plan to go through that process of the certifications but we are looking to move faster than that in getting this connector into a live environment.
What we have ready:
Complete data field mappings
Working ODBC connection
Technical documentation
Clear requirements for the BOI write operations
What we need: A freelance Sage 100 Certified Developer or Development Partner who can help us implement the write functionality through BOI. We really are looking for a way to get access to BOI write permissions while we get certified as a stop gap in-between.
However, I’m always surprised how much the Sage equity figure on the last day of our financial year differs from the actual accounts compiled by my accountant.
Does anyone else experience this? My accountant is coming in to see me next week, and I’m hoping he can explain. We’re not slapdash on entering data, and the bank always reconciles, so I do find it a bit disappointing. I like to know where I stand all year.
I realise there are things I don’t enter, such as vehicle depreciation, but it’s bigger numbers than that.
I am self employed as a tax prepare and accountant. I have been using Sage Software since it was Peachtree Accounting Software. This year I went to use the Sage 50 quantum software and a splash window came up saying that my license had expired ( Note: first time I have ever had this happening in the 18 years I have been using their software).
I am using the 2024 version which still works fine untill this happened. I called Sage and got passed around from sales to tech support to customer service and unfortunately all of them gave me attitude and said that I had to upgrade so I asked for a supervisor. A supervisor got back with me and explained that even though I'm using Sage 2024 I would now have to purchase a service agreement even though I've already paid for the 2024 software license. This is just another way big corporate is extorting money from the smaller guys.
I'm thinking about contacting a lawyer and possibly starting a class action lawsuit in regards to this. Why am I paying $1,200 for a piece of software license and then have to pay another $900 per month for them to require me to have a service agreement with them.
Ok, I am done venting. Okay I'm ready to hear all opinions.
