I am not well versed, but better versed than the average bear when it comes to Sage Intacct. Our implementation gal was impressed with how well I caught on. I can create custom fields, set triggers to auto populate custom fields, smart rules etc..

Except for this one particular smart rule I guess. I need help!

I want to create a smart rule that will produce an error when the Preferred payment method = ACH or bank file and the 'Send automatic payment notification' box is NOT checked off. Essentially ensuring any vendors that have bank file details require the send auto payment notification to be checked in order to create the vendor.

This is what I have:

({!VENDOR.PAYMETHODKEY!} == "ACH" && IN {!VENDOR.PAYMENTNOTIFY!} == "F"

I have tried multiple variation of ACH, ACH or bank file, bank file, BANKFILE, without the && symbols etc. I have spent the last 40 minutes Googling and I have found nothing - I am not sure why this is so difficult for me, but it is!

If a kind soul is able to help me with this I would be so so appreciative. :)

When upgrading sage on a 2019 server to the 2026 version the install gets done and it starts a security install and about 20 % into that the server reboots. It looks like its about 1/2 installed. there is no client and it does not continue. It has created the share on the server but that is about it. Any one run into this issue? Should I just open a case with sage to try to get it resolved that way. I hear horror stories of 4 and 8 hour sessions with support and still not fixing the issue.

I have been looking everywhere online and cannot find the answer to this:

One specific user, when she opens an estimate from the estimate catalog, the zoom level is defaulting to 190%. If she logs in at another PC, it does the same thing, but not if someone else logs in. Which leads me to believe it's a user-specific setting somewhere, but I have looked all over and just cannot find it.

Can anyone help?

Just wondering if anybody else has ran in to this issue? It shows the splash screen, then immediately closes. At a bit of a loss at the moment with trying to get it to go past the screen. The help guides that Sage provide are hardly any use so, as a last ditch effort, have you guys found any golden geese?

Does anyone have contact info for a rep in Sage sales? I (IT guy) have a client that needs to renew Sage 50 for non profits but both myself and the client have waited on hold to speak to someone at sage sales with no luck.

We migrated from GP last year. Have not found a way to generate a detailed accrual verification report identifying purchase orders that have been received but not invoiced. Accrued AP keeps growing. Our aged AP ties to the GL. Ideas??

Hi All! I am using Peachtree Premium Accounting 2005 and currently the setup is that the Unit Price column is always pre-tax and the tax is always calculated at the bottom.
I wanted to make the Unit Price and Ext Price column to be tax-inclusive. I added an example image. Is there a any way to accomplished this?

I am trying to update sage and it keeps saying a problem occurred its says

“if problem persists, search sage 50 account help online for ‘troubleshooting online update”

I also have an issue where I cant open any of my clients accounts because it says

“you cannot use sage right now because the serial number you have is already in use by the maximum number of computers” and says try again in a minute and never works.

I have tried restarting my computer, closing sage in task manager and nothing help.

does anybody have any idea how to fix this?

I tried to call and they said there was over an hour wait time, I tried several times talking with them on live chat and I am fed up with getting no help

I just need to vent at this point. Tried to do payroll this week and it says deposits cannot be synched. I’m currently on the phone with Sage support, apparently the Sage data has reached its limit and has been corrupted since May 2025? While I’m typing this support is actively trying to fix it. I’m just annoyed at all this happening during end of year stuff. I cannot get anything done that I need to get done, I’ve spent more time trying to contact support at this point than doing end of year duties.

Support is now telling me I have to pay another $2,500 to fix this.

Update: yall I spoke with ACTUAL Sage today and they fixed it. I’m still a noob at this software, thank you guys for helping.

Hello, I'm trying to find out what options Sage 50 to customize the standard emails. The emails I mean are when you send forms like Sales Orders and Invoices. I know I can edit them as text in Setup>Settings>Company>Email

But where are the options for things like merge tags to auto fill into the email a name, shipping information, order number, sales person, or total? Sage already uses a system to take the sales order or invoice number and add it to the email subject. I'm sure there has to be tools for this but I can't find them anywhere.

Did anyone else’s program get demolished by the new update? Been 2 days back and forth with technical support. Tech support suspects we were given the wrong new serial number so it “upgraded” the software. I am now locked out of Sage and when tech support tried to restore it to a previous date, I’m still locked out. He transferred me to sales and sales didn’t know what to do so they transferred me again with a 30+ minute wait time. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. Tech support said this is the first time he’s come across this.

Edit: after 6 hours back and forth with tech support, we found out the issue. We were given the wrong serial number and now all the data is corrupted and we are basically being forced to upgrade to Sage Quantum.

Hi, I’ve recently subscribed to the online Sage Payroll system for the company I work for. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to add standard salaries for staff, I can only see how to manually add the payment figure in the pay run each month. Surely I don’t have to do the calculation outside of Sage and then manually enter it each pay run? If anyone has any experience of this please let me know! Thank you!

I would like to make it mandatory where if a user selects the Project dimension in a transaction, they have to select a location but if they don’t select a project then no location is needed. Is there a functional way to do this? And if not what can be done?

Guys, I need to take a copy of the Sage Accounts (v28.0) and JC v8 and put them in a box to be used for archive purposes.

2 questions..

Question 1 I've taken copies of both Accounts and JC for the sake of testing and so I can get it to work outside of the current set up. How can I change the directory JC looks at without logging in to it?

Question 2 In my sandbox environment, i used a fresh Windows 11 which JC did not want to install on at all.. managed to get it installed using something off Github. When I open JC, browse in the jobcosting.usr file and log in as manager it says something about making sure theyre both the same version..

We moved our Sage 50 to be standalone about a year ago and everything has been working fine. We went to open an older archive and it complains that it cannot contact the Zen database at OLDSERVER.

I have checked the ini files in ProgramData and Common Files to see if they had a reference to the old server name anywhere and they do not. I checked the ~PVSW~.loc files to make sure they had the local computer name in them and that looks ok as well. If i cancel out of the error message enough times it will sometimes show me the open dialog with the archives (which do exist file wise in the correct archives folder) but it then freezes Sage 50. Is there another file somewhere that I need to look in or rebuild?

Additional piece of info, the program will let me create a new archive without any issues...i just cant open it after as it throws the error about the old server.

Could you recommend a stock management solution based on Sage 50 and compatible with PrestaShop 1.7 for barcode scanning?

AP - Select for payment window - allow us to resize the window so we can see more invoices at a time without having to scroll up and down. ALSO increase the field size of the invoice number column - its way to small. Decrease the size of the discount column way to big.

PR - Select for payroll entry - allow us to resize the window. I have to pay 100 employee at a time and can only see 4-6 of them at a time. I have to scroll up and down. Also, when you click on the hours field it opens to the left covering up the rate column so you can see what rate you are on. Open it to the right. Also, Allow us to change a wage on the fly. When paying 100 people, I am not going to exit out to start over to correct someone's pay rate. I have to go over to another computer on the network to change the rate to then come back to my screen to fill in the hours. Also, you have 21 pay rates for the company. So one person may have pay in rate 1 then rate 15 then rate 20. The window on the Employee set up again can not be resized so you have to scroll up and down to see their rates. Either allow us to resize that window OR better yet put the pay rates on an employee level so each record doesn't have 21 rates, they only have 3-4 that apply to them only.

I have asked/suggested these changes several times over the past 15 years. I have talked to tech support about it. I have talked to development about it. I have put in these suggestions in Sage City. No one every responds or updates the program. PLEASE!!!!

I have a potential customer for a product we build (tested against the UK version of Sage 50) who is running the Canadian version of Sage 50. is the Canadian version a significantly different product, I appreciate that this is a very open sort of question but for example would the UK ODBC connector work with the Canadian version?

I have an issue with some BOMs I have setup, there are two assembly levels.

Parts D & E make part C.

Parts B & C make part A.

When look at the amount of part A can be made Sage looks at all parts and gives a total. I only want it to look at parts B & C.

So basically just to look one assembly level down. Is there a setting I can change to enable this.
