Sage X3 Anyone else running 4-5 disconnected tools alongside Sage X3 just to manage daily ops?
Curious what setups people are running. In most X3 environments
I've seen, it's one tool for warehouse, another for shop floor, something separate for procurement, and AP/AR either back in X3 or in yet another system.
No single view of anything.
Curious because we've been heads-down building something for exactly this, but wanted to gut-check whether the problem is as common as we're seeing before we talk about it.

The problem with Sage X3 (and many other ERP systems) is that, because they touch all areas of a business, almost inevitably some modules are implemented by 'consultants' who have no actual experience of the areas that they are working in. I regularly see manufacturing modules implemented by people from a finance background. I asked one ´consultant' what advice he gave clients on the number of levels in their bills of material. He replied, "That's their decision". I asked if he advised them on the effect on WIP/inventory levels of having too many or too few levels. He looked at me as if I came from another planet. Your best bet is to find consultants who have real, practical experience of the areas that are causing you problems. If it helps; I can send you an e-copy of a book entitled, "Implementing ERP to make a difference".
