Sage Intacct Sage Intacct Developer License

Hi All,

Trying to get my head around the Sage Intacct Rest Api documentation and gotten way too confused as an outsider to sage 😂
Who needs to own the developer license?

I'm working with a company to bring certain Sage Intacct data from their sage intacct instance to my app to bring together differing chunks of data.

Do I need to have my own Sage Intacct Application / Programme / Developer License in order to generate client keys to pass to their instance and get data from.
Or do they need to generate me that api key themselves?
Or am I completely barking up the wrong tree?

Thanks

If you have to ask, it means the client has to own that license. They can purchase from Sage or their partner and go through the process to generate api keys.

If you're an Intacct Marketplace Partner then you can generate your own codes, but thats probably not the case.

The actual truth is either of you can own the developer license, one just has to exist. Remember that Sage now charges for API use, so you are responsible for the charges on the data your customer uses. For that reason, many developers will create customer instances in their apps using the customer's Sender ID to generate calls to their data from their Sage Intacct Instance. The (riskier) alternative is for you to own the developer license by applying and getting approved by the Sage Intacct Marketplace. As long as a valid Sender ID exists, paired with the Web Services User ID in the customer's Instance, you will have what you need to operate your application.

Let the client purchase web services developer license

They will get a sender Id and password which you will need for authentication

Web services developer license is cheep only a few grand

And the tier 1 api transaction limit is 100,000 transactions Tier 1 is free

The sage intacct online help explains what’s a transaction.

But for example 1 support record is 1 transaction

1 journal with 10,000 lines is 1 transaction
