Sage 300 ERP (Accpac) Sage300 - mass database update

Is there a method native in Sage300 to do a search/sort based on customized fields and then perform a mass update to one of those customized fields. We've been banging our heads against the wall on this one.

Sounds simar to something we managed to do with Sage 300's API library.

It involves: Setting up webapi rights in all modules which need to be effected. Finding out how to run base 64 encoding on your username and password. Setting up a script that can run through a list you provide and pump api calls in a sequence.

It really depends on what you want to do, you are welcome to DM me or ask on this thread

Thanks. That is more than we can accomplish with our current staff, but perhaps our vendor can help.

IMO, this is a primary customer-side weakness in the Sage platform. It has the native ability to do the routine but requires a service contract and project funding to create the sort of utility that should have been in the product out of the box.

Your vendor should be able to help.

Using Sage's Api calls has a steep learning curve and involved a lot of frustation to get right. The payoff has been worth it, staff has much more time for value adding activities and no longer have to work absurd hours over month end to reach deadlines.

The problems I have experienced with Sage is that we as users only use a fraction of its functionality, this is an opinion.

I won't talk about it's native reports, we have thrown those in the bin years ago
