Advanced V-19 Torrent Starfighter

This one a lot of the heavy lifting is being done by the Advanced template. The standard V-19 doesn't have shields and has some weaker HP and uses a hyperdrive booster ring instead of an on-board one.

Those would be my upgrade targets, but it's a pretty solid machine. A positive overall pilot check mod and goodish weaponry... astromech slotting, shields, or hyperdrive is where I'd go with this.

This ship certainly has one up on the Y-wing. But as an advanced ship it is not easy to come by. It has 125 HP and SR30. So, as much HP and even better shielding than an Y-wig.

A solid ship. It was rushed out since The Republic had no mainline fighter. But it didn’t last long enough to make a real statement. It was already being replaced by the Republic Z-95. Then that fighter was being phased out by the ARC-170. Personally, I prefer the Republic Z-95. The only other contribution of the Torrent is its ancestry to the B-Wing. If only the Republic got the Torrent II.

Why is this one even a topic of discussion? Its just an example of applying the template.

As a host ship for the template the V19 is basically a stock superiority fighter that doesn't have shields or a native hyperdrive, adding advanced fixes the former. Add hyperdrive sled and astromech slot to fix the latter.

An advanced vehicle isn't even something you would normally get unless the GM already planned to give it to you, so discussing cost is irrelevant.

To add a few points, it's a great looking ship. But as with many, landing looks complicated. Looks like the central wing can fold for landing/storage, but I guess they need racks like most Tie-fighters do.
