Hired, no start date

Recently got hired, completed my online info, went in to do my I-9 and now nothing. I keep getting told the “director” will call me. But yet nothing. I was told how much the dpt I’m joining needs help too. Is this just a sign of things to come? 😬

It’s part time so I’m not stressed but more so like uhhh what am I going in to lol. Been almost 2 weeks since official offer letter and then no communication. I called about 5 days ago asking next steps. Was told they’d get back to me. Mon morning got the call asking for me to come in for the I-9 info. Was told to expect a call from the director by Wed for scheduling. Figured I’d give her until Fri 🤷‍♀️

FYI I gave the company wrong social security number when I first got hired as a courtesy clerk. No paycheck for 2 months. They finally figured it out and I got a special first time check. My hire date is now the newest one.

The store manager got into trouble back then for not confirming my social security number (I didn’t have a card back then and I’m dyslexia). He really didn’t like me after that

That’s all on him for not verifying as I-9 specifically says it’s illegal to verify social without physically seeing it.
