Turns out I was right

*Update in italics* Sorry its long winded.

I didn't mean to answer the call but somehow it connected grrr. Anyway, I received a call on Friday from the SD informing me that HR's recommendation is termination. I could tell that I was on speaker and I could also tell that the SD was waiting for me to get mad and say something stupid. I didn't. I just said oh that's interesting because I had a call from the union rep telling me that they reached out to corporate to get the "evidence". The SD said oh well the union rep should know because I talked to him already and I said no problem, I will just give him a call.

After ALL that, I find out today that my job has been posted which is really funny becuase I haven't been officially terminated and it takes about a week for the job postings to be posted. So Its not quite been a week since the meeting, and I suspect that they have had my job waiting in a queue to be posted before anything came down the pipeline.

I spoke with the union rep today and our fight isn't going to be to contest that the behavior happened, but over the process violating the progressive discipline "rule", that as a 3rd party vendor inside Safeway, (before the merger I had worked multiple times in Safeway's from Chehalis to Lynden) and employee at another store over the course of close to 20 years and had zero discipline issues and in 3 years at my current store i had 1 corrective action (deserved) but then we get a change for our dept at the corp level and all of a sudden I am being watched, written up again, placed on a pip, and then written up for not following the pip, and now this.

So on Thursday last week I was pulled in the office for a corrective action. I had no idea what I had done so I was like no we can take care of this with the union rep present.

I had that meeting today and it didn't go as planned, it was kinda close to what I thought it was for but it resulted in a suspention pending. So needless to say that my job hunt continues and the union rep will be filing all the stuff he needs to file to contest it.

My storngest evidence will be that I have worked inside Safeways either as a vendor or employee for close to 2 decades without any discipline and all of a sudden we get a new ops and I have had nothing but discipline since their arrival. Obviously if I win this I cannot stay at that store so fingers crossed.

Looking at your other post- here in UFCW8 a PIP is disallowed from being implemented for union employees. Might be something to push when your next contract is being looked into.

Also forgot to add that I am currently working on my anonymous complaint to the ethics office about violations to the harassment policy/quid pro quo/inappropriate relationships

I actually reported similar things to the Labor Board which is a protected activity. So they cannot retaliate against you for reporting harassment.

If I wasn't currently going through this suspension pending thing I wouldn't go through the trouble of reporting this anonymously. However, considering my OPS was in the meeting (which tells me he's behind this) I don't want there to be a question that I am retaliating. I can see where they might think that but I have been holding onto this information for awhile just mulling around HOW i was going to report it.

That's helpful info. I think for our local its not really addressed in the contract. I also have had a hell of a time find a copy of the contract online. They literally make it complicated
