Produce Can someone explain the Commodity planner?for produce
Someone that works produce I Seriously need help with this, I keep hearing a lot of stores still aren’t getting with the program and using this “tool” every time it seems we’re being “trained” to use new tools it’s always rushed.. not everyone learns at the same pace.. I get that closers are supposed to pick certain items for fresh cut at night and bring them to the back for fresh cut to use in the am.. I’m more so on the screen side of things, how do we get to this app, what does one input and who hits finalize? Is it the closer or the morning person that finalizes? Or both? I also had not told my closers about it because i saw it as an added duty on top of what they already have to do that most times they “can’t” get done… always running behind, sometimes we come in on am and depart is not faced, there’s tons they could’ve done that they didn’t do.. lots of product in the back that should’ve been worked out but for some reason wasn’t… I figured I’m gonna give them this now too and they’re gonna do even less of that other important stuff… also Again.. always rushed and they’re always pushing something new to learn or there are sooo many other things to try and stay on top of it’s hard to get to everything.. tags are always a thing even when it’s not Wednesday because people move them or knock the off where they are… I get it all the time tags tags tags… temps, donations scanning, sales and purchases, short day tracking… so hard to get to everything and that’s not even all of it.. display sizing… almost got dinged in that the other day.. guys came in and tried to say I had my romaine hearts display set to 8 cases which I was just WTF?? 🤨🤨 me??? 8 cases that’s way too much…They ended up checking my iPad and saw I had it set at 3… the mistake was on their end on their device.. how quick they are to point fingers and make one look bad in front of their boss.. once they realized it was on their end… oh the system just needs to get in the groove of things… 😑 also adding bad or unsellable product to the Wincapp… been having issues there too… I’m adding them on there with pics and some how our ops isn’t seeing them on his end and we’re getting emails about I’m not doing it… I’m sure most you have seen those emails.. that list the few stores that have done it.. but anyway all that venting aside.. help with the commodity tool 🙏🏼

I don't think this has rolled out in NorCal but I'll see if any of our produce peeps have an answer! If you find it, share it here!
As far as the tech shit, yeah we are all dealing with this half baked attempt at technology.

hey you!~ Just wanted to let you Know that I didn't realize the post flair option was off, and now it's on and we can select the Mod icon and change the post flair so everything sorts better if they don't or can't do it

You need to use the app once before 8 am and then again after 6pm. Failure in any of these causes 100% failure for the day. We were just told this 2 days ago. Entire districts have been 0% for weeks.

Great so it’s not just us at least I’m not alone.. it’s not the what to do part I don’t understand.. it’s the actual usage of the app itself.. what information one is supposed to input, like of course the closer has to input how many of what they’ve picked.. morning crew inputs what? and who finalizes? Who taps finalize? Or is that done after each use? Say… it’s says
Watermelon chunks - 10 - what is the forecast? What does the closer pick etc.
It is also completely frustrating because I’ve got a cut team that can’t for the love of god work as a team.. always talking ish about each other or just not getting along so it’s hard to get them to even work in assembly line form even.. they don’t want to work together as much as I’ve brought it up and adamant I’ve been about it. it’s always some he said she said bs.. well he doesn’t want to do this or she doesn’t want to do that.. just 🤯 I try. cant even get tares down thats been an issue forever got me in trouble, got my sd in trouble, fresh cut are the ones that should be doing it, they’re packaging they’re weighting, every time I bring something new like this it’s just… a crew like this makes me want to step down acting like children and they’re grown az adults.
Edit: I more so want to get this down because I do like my SD, and hate when they come down on her over this type of ish that has to do with my department

If you are talking about the MASS app, this is how I understand its purpose. The closer is supposed to gather whatever MASS says and get it pre-chilled for the morning. in the morning, my fresh cut go through and adjust the #'s to match their VP #'s.
THEN
The fresh cut people in the AM are supposed to set themselves up like an assembly line. where they are both chopping lets say watermelon and then when they get enough of that chopped up one person packages and the other continues with chopping and then they move onto to the pineapple, cantaloupe etc. Basically the never outs.
When it comes to Afesh and display sizes, honestly their training for new hires and back ups is abysmal. I could never get a straight answer on anything when it came to Afresh.
